I recently saw a mentalist have an audience member select a phone number from the yellow pages. Seven envelopes held in random order by seven spectators on the stage were then opened to reveal the phone number, one digit on a card was in each randomly arranged envelope.

Is this effect in print anywhere? If not, could anyone PM me with possible ways to accomplish this.

Sounds Like Tim Conover, and I do not beleive he has released it.

I like that idea. Having not seen it, I cannot comment, but there is material in Theater of the Mind that would help, and Spelmann's DVDs, to do something similar.

Yes, Chris does do an effect similar to the description above. I have seen both performers routines. However, Scott Kahn saw Gerry perform this in New York and although the effect is similar to Chris' it is my understanding that there are differences in the two performers method.
