Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.
Ask not what they do for you but what they do for your audience. What you like does not matter, does it? Tommy
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

As mentioned above, it's a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer to use Aviators, Bees, Tally-Ho's or 100% plastic cards like KEM, Copag or Gemaco (Sunny or Royal) instead of bicycles. Does that make them less of a maigican? No. I also think that the black tiger decks are great looking and I'm not no young kid. Other magicians and mentalists like them too because a lot of them are sold. I would use them more but my only problem with the black tiger decks are that they are just too expensive for me to use them all of the time. The black tiger decks are perfect for your Bizzare Magic routine. Keep on using them. It doesn't matter whether the Ellusionist or the Devil himself sells them I see them used in many places. Don't worry about people automatically suspecting a trick deck. If your spectators do ask about them just tell them that they are a different colored Bicycle deck like the green colored Bicycle deck. Sometimes magicians worry too much about things: "Don't run if you're not being chased." Gerard

I don't see anything better in a tiger deck than a bike deck, unless its part of a haunted magic trick. When I first saw them at a shop, I thought they were a trick deck. I think Bee decks look awesome for fans and flourishes. However, it is also personal preference as been said.

I personally don't see what the big deal is on this. It's a deck of cards printed with a different color. I read what it was. I like unusual things. I picked it up and got what I paid for. What did everyone expect?

Well, it has been implied that the deck could increase the impact of one's magic several fold.
That I don't buy. A.

Black tiger deck is showy and definately draws attention. And if you are not ready to perform at a moment notice, don't bring it!

Actually, I do have a friend who uses his Tiger deck in close up. As I watched him use it I couldn't help but think that he shouldn't. I can see it being used as an effect such as a normal white card Turing into a black one. Then the rest of the deck has changed as well. But to use it with every card trick. Or in tricks that have nothing to do with it's odd color just doesn't look right. It really does exclaim, "This is not a normal deck of cards."
It brings to mind the knowledge that a spectator doesn't have to KNOW the method. They just have to think they know the method for the effect to be ruined. It doesn't matter if they are right or not because in their mind they are and the only way to change that is to show them the method. In their minds they're right and some people will think it has something to do with the method just because it's not normal. Ron Jaxon |

To me they look cool and I sometimes use them. I don`t care what some other smart alecks say or some would-be magicians, who think they are superior. These people just have to show they are "better" or more "magical" by saying they use only this or that kind of deck. Quite silly. It is much easier to put something down than to defend your cause. Personally, I don`t care about such people. Just use whatever cards you like and enjoy yourself.

They are not such a big deal. Very overhyped.
I think the marketing greatly exceeded the actual product. |

I love it!!! for the black decks: they are beautiful. that's all whats needed. they are just beautiful and should be used in very pseical cases. especially the black ghost. I love the ace of spades design in the normal ghost decks and the jokers. I hope ellusionist will drop the black ghost in a few month for 6,99$ per pack.

I wholeheartedly agree with Simon (a few posts back now!) on this, amongst others, and these seemingly endless "do you like the black tiger decks?", "what effects can I perform with a black tiger deck?", "kool black tiger decks!", "how to get the girls using a black tiger deck!" - ok, I made up that last one but I wouldn't be suprised to see it turn up at some point!
The reality is, that if YOU like them, and YOU feel they enhance your performances, use them! If you don't like them, don't USE THEM! Unfortunately, there are lots of newbies (no disrespect intended - we were all there once!), who are lured in by some clever marketing ideas by sites such as Ellusionist, and are led to believe that "Card magic routines take on stunning visual behavior" (from the ellusionist web site). As nice as they undoubtedly look, in my experience, they do look suspicious. For the simple reason that cards with black backgrounds are not "the norm". that's not necessarily a bad thing though. Just a casual observation on my part! Is it really necessary to keep harping on about the same topic again and again? A simple search would answer the question about why some people like these decks and others don't. Can you tell I'm fed up with these sort of topics yet? He hee! Justin
