Just wanted to pass on an idea for handling the Dime & Penny set.
I always had trouble keeping the coins separated properly until it was time to use them. When I started doing an effect with the coins that required the use of a shot glass, I found the shot glass could also be used to store the coins before the effect. To do this, I put them in the shot glass, with the dime on top of the penny. This way, they always stay properly separated. And once you get the knack, you can pour them out of the shot glass onto a close-up mat, and they will also stay separate. This has the added benefit of a very casual handling that seems to show they are exactly what they appear to be, a dime and a penny. Finally, you can use the shot glass to reset the coins instead of a bang ring. I’ve often dropped the set into the shot glass and given it a shake as I put it away. This resets the coins and no one ever notices it happening. SETH

Thanks for the tip. I have a dime and penny floating around the market place somewhere disguised as a regular penny because I lost the separation one time and spent them not realizing what had happened.

Yikes!! That's an expensive penny!
I got a few plastic coin holders from the local coin dealer, to keep my gaffed coins in when they're not working. SETH

My daughter-in-law just found a double headed nickel in her change. That is about an $8 item at the magic store here. She was sure she had a million dollar mistake.

One of the guys at my local magic shop used his folding coin to buy a soda. Although I think this is the same guy who asked for some halves a store and one of the ones he was given was a S&S coin.

Just keep asking for halfdollars as change... wherever you go. one day your bound to get lucky. how many normal lay people spend half dollars anyway?
