Hi everyone!
After a long hiatus, I am just starting to get back into magic again. I've pulled the TT, the old Hot Rod (the first trick I ever bought) and the Invisible Deck out of the drawer. I've blown the dust off my Mark Wilson's Complete Course of Magic. I'm a physician (radiologist) and plan to use magic to help put my patients at ease and, of course, to amaze and mystify my co-workers. I'm therefore primarily interested in close-up magic. I'm also enjoying introducing my children ages 16, 12, and 8 to the hobby. I've recently purchased each of the the penny and dime trick and a hot rod (hey, it got me started.) They still can't figure out how I sweeten my tea by pouring sugar into my left fist, make it vanish, then pour it out of my right fist into the tea I look forward to being a member of this ecommunity. |

What's up doc? Glad you could join us! Maybe you could work out some new illusions for when you show people their x-rays... mmm.. like do a card trick where you force a card then show them their pictures and have one with their card buried somewhere in a rib cage or something... who knows?

Welcome aboard, Jeff.
And glad to see you are putting magic to a truly magical use! Dusting off Mark Wilson's book is a great idea; it will be the ultimate "refresher" course. |

Pull up a chair and have some java...
This is also my re-introduction to the art, and you will find The Café to be a great source of information and inspiration. I'm not sure if it's still active, but you might remember that David Copperfield started an organization called Project Magic. This brought magic into the hands and hearts of patients of all ages. Great physical and mental therapy for both the teacher and student... Have Fun! Jeff

Hi Jeff,
It seems that you have done another "project magic" yourself. Nice that you are back to magic and I hope this time you stay longer. Let me welcome you both to the Café and Magic with a cup of strong Turkish coffee.

A doctor performing magic for the patients - that's great. You get to do something enjoyable and help others at the same time.
