Strolling through Bill Palmer's Cups and balls Museum, I was struck with an idea: using Mini Cups, complete with their own load, as your final production from standard or jumbo cups.

Would this work, and has it been done before?

Yes it has been done.

As long as we are on the subject of final loads, what is wrong with the classic large loads? seems to me the only ones who tire of seeing them is magicians not people.

I have seen the mini cups used as final loads many times. Here's the question. What do you DO with them after you produce them? Are you going to produce smaller things from them? Are you going to do another routine?

Acutally, It would be really neat to see how small you can go with it, and then make them vanish completely.

By the way, I think it would be time for me to purchase a nice CB set, and use that...other than my plastic cups and marbles. Hah.

A production is 99.9% of the time stronger than a vanish. Just a thought.

Interesting thought, but now that makes me think of what really startling thing I can put in a really tiny cup.

As an aside, I was tinkering with a hankerchief that would hold the shape of the cups, almost like in that salt shaker vanish trick.

That could be very effective.

It would be even more effective if you could "load" a little cup under the big one -- really the handkerchief. Then load something else, then smash the hanky flat, as you might do with the saltshaker bit.

It ould be cool if you showed the big cups that had lemons or a big object in them... then the lemon disappeared and inside the big cups were little cups and I nthose little cups were little tiny lemons Smile

Hmm, that gave me another idea. Prep some lemons with duplicate balls inside....

Dissappointed? Why? Regal's routine is awesome. Fooled the heck out of all at the Magic Castle every time until he published it.

Hmm, you could even get down to the size of a thimble, I'm sure, with some rolled up thread to use as balls, and a needle as a wand...wait, I should use that as a routine in it's self!
