Here we go again...another levitation.
I watched the videa. It does seem to be one of the most natural levitation effects I have seen. I am also awaiting a review. Anyone with thoughts on this? Mike |

I wrote a very similar, if not the same, method for this levitation about six years ago. You can do it too. The four hundred dollar price tag is outrageous. Enjoy

I've seen this idea on many peoples web sites in the past year or so. I saw a kid do it facing backwards and there is a kid on ellusionist who has a video of him doing it Facing backwards on his couch. Obviously the gimmick must be modified for a front on presentation but I think the gimmick is the same. I think all of these levitations came out of Fearsons Fantastic Flotation.

I just had a REALLY interesting Idea about how the Icarus could be executed...without props. Hmm...
As a Joke: The people who are in the videos have superhuman strength, and an easily lift the performer. Problem solved. (This has nothing to do with the statement above)

It looks nice but I can see some problems with it. First off, Is the effect supposed to be floating up and down a stair or just a levitation... This leads me to my greatest question, does this require a step or something elevated behind you? I have my ideas how this works and if I am anywhere near close to what it is, I would be afraid to perform it. The angles are better then the Balducci and other similar levitations but the restrictions would still make me nervous. For free, the balducci is a nice levitation for its restrictions, but for four hundred dollars with restrictions on this trick, I wouldn't be satisfied.
There is a time and a place for everything, if you have perfect conditions... My 2 cents Derek Merdinyan |

The Idea I just had would allow you to do the same thing for about 20 bucks. Eh. But then again, I could be just stealing Aaron's Idea.

I was there when the video was shot for Aaron Paterson's Icarus Effect, and I have to say, peoples' reactions were amazing! Some just stood there, absolutely stunned, jaws dropping, while others, as you see on the video, screamed in disbelief.
This is a big step up (pun intended) from any other self-levitation out there. It is practical, deceptive and mystifying. Aaron has spent years looking for the perfect materials for parts of the gimmick, and there's a lot more to this than you might think. I watched him do it a half dozen times and still didn't know how it worked! For a one-on-one performance of a self levitation, do-able any time and anywhere, this is brilliant. (By the way, I have absolutely no finanical interest in endorsing this item. I just think it's really great.) - entity

The video is amazing. I have heard that it is the same method as Fearsons fantastic flotation, but I don't understand it. The LAST levitation on the video is amazing, pure awesome. Can you do that last levitation with Icarus too, or just on a step?

Isn't thie the same one criss angel did on mindfreak, it looks very similar. If it is, then it looked amazing! Btw I don't really give a $%@! what the method is, as along as it is practical and kills laymen, I could care less what magicians think.

Fearson's thing is very different... You have to hold a jacket or cloth in front of yourself while you "float".
You can do the Icarus Effect on flat ground, without a step. - entity
