Gah. This thread was dead and gone. Like a *** 10 month lapse.
And what ****es me off more..? I wasn't part of this debate! xD Well, it's beating a dead horse anyhow. The point is made. Although new facts have arisen since the (tragic) death of this topic, it is a moot point. Please now let it rest in peace.

If he is in the military, I can see why he keeps his face hidden. I was in the military and my Commander wouldn't let me perform magic on the side. The Armed Forces don't want to be associated with magic, to them its the same as being a clown. It would also explain why he went back to Germany. I do remember reading somewhere that he was a marine...

Yes, that is another somewhat popular belief. Or at least it was.
But please. Let this thread rest.

Nah let's keep it going! I would be extremely surprised if De'vo was a kid--his hands are too aged to be considered a "kid". It seems the new De' Ring video may feature footage of De'vo's face. Someone get it and let us know whether he's ugly or a baby or whatever!

If you want to know more about him, make sure to look out for Street Magic Magazine in 2007; he'll be in it.

Will do James. Thanks for the info. Just curious, I may have missed a truce of some sort, but Didn't De'vo make fun of magicians and say he wanted nothing to do with them and their little red balls?

He wouldn't be famous without the help of magicians, I'll say that much.

I was one of the original 30 members of superhandz many many years again when it first started... I was on the inside and over all the years I saw all the inconsistencies and the changes... I know why he doesn't show his face and perhaps most of the "secrets" he doesn't want people to know... I quit all the superhandz stuff a long time ago... as soon as someone leaves (moneys, fitz, rich, etc.) they were immediately hated on... player haterz forum...

In Flames: Can't say really; they have their own way of doing things and we ours. There are some cross-over interests. And since we are not your a-typical "magic" magazine, we seek out people who are at the top of the game regardless of views held. As to the "little red balls" see my piece in Genii coming up; I say pretty much the same thing because there is some truth to it. SM is a cutting edge periodical with high-end content where pretty much anyone with REAL talent can have a venue.
CardConjurer: Really; is that a fact. Tell us more. Posted: Jan 2, 2007 1:23am ----------------------------------------------- Just kidding by the way... don't really need to hear more. |

Which brings up an interesting point: those who have suggested that De'vo is a marine surely don't mean a U.S. Marine, do they? De'vo writes fluently in German--much better than a U.S. Marine who just spent a few (or even) many years in Germany would likely be capable of. No, De'vo is either German or German/American. Of course, I guess a German/American could serve in the U.S. Marines. Which means my whole post is a waste. Fitting, don't y'all think? A useless post in a useless thread. Gruss, Jeff Goettingen |

Actually, De'vo's English is also "native speaker" level. So--based on my recollection of some German posts of his I read a long time ago--I would guess that he is bilingual. So I think he is most probably a German/American (you know, holding two passports and all that). My best guess is that he is the son of an American serviceman and a German woman. He's probably 28 years old, an ex-vegetarian (switching back to meat solved his acne problem), and bald. And he was probably born in March, so everyone run over to the handlordZ forums around then to wish him a happy birthday.
And I just spent the last ten or fifteen minutes trying to find where I might have read De'vo's German. But I can't find anything, and I can't take any more of reading handlordZ and the like. Gruss, Jeff Goettingen |

Well Nick, it is my recollection that I read a post of his in German. As I said, I can't find it again. Perhaps some De'vo afficianados can give me a link so that I can reevaluate his German. Until then, it will have to remain a MYSTERY! (And the crowd said, "Oooooh! Aaaaah!") Gruss Jeff Goettingen |
