Hey guys,

First off, the TV Series is exceptional...world class. I really enjoy watching your skills.

I would love to do what you do, testing casino security. Did you find it hard getting Lady Luck and Crystal Bay, or were these two of many casinos you wrote to asking if you could film?

Do you do this fulltime now (testing casino security, not filming 'The Takedown')?

Also, I was watching 'Under the Table', and have always wanted to try it (obviously it would be suicide nowadays...and to be honest when you got away with it I was shocked). I bet it was fun Smile

If you could help me out with something I've been working on, I would greatly appreciate it. This video shows a muck I've been playing around with (I am not sure what this method of palming is called). Not perfect, but take a look...

Thanks!

Well, I'm not Paul or Jason, but I'd like to suggest that if you're reading this and you haven't heard of "The Takedown", I implore you to sit your butts down in front of Court TV at the appointed time (check your local listings) and check it out. It's a very well done, entertaining show.

I've been fortunate enough to have made Paul Wilson's acquaintance in the last few months and he's a true gentleman. A nice guy who is incredibly generous when it comes to sharing his knowledge.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like a Tenkai Palm. But, I'm no expert, so someone set me straight if I'm off on this one.

While I have not seen the Takedown either, I must agree with John and say that it looks like the Tenkai Palm.

Naw, looks like a regular Gambler's palm to me...

By the way, I've never seen anyone hold their hands in that stiff, flat, slightly open manner at any of the tables down here. It just looks too weird to me. In fact, the only time I've seen it is in survelliance videos where the staff is building a case against the cheater.

Take down is cool.
One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.

I must admit I love the Takedown. I like how they show some moves, like the pass, hand mucking, second deals. I just wish that that show was on a little earlier, its always on at like 10 and 11pm. During the summer it was fine but now that I'm back in school I cant cause I have trouble getting up in the morning. Hey just out of curiosity are paul and jason members of the Café?

I have seen them both post here before, albeit sporadically.

I believe this palming technique is what is called the "Clip" . I don't think its possible to do a Tenkai with a flat palm on the table.

Uhmmm... Who is Paul H.? In relation to the Takedown? Paul Wilson and Jason England are involved with it. But no Paul H. As in Harris. And as to the palm, it would be pointless to try and name it without seeing the actual grip.
If you ever get to a point where words have no meaning, you're probably talking to a dog.

With all respect Doomo, it would be pointless not to discuss possibilities and names of certain sleights. Nothing is carved and etched in stone here. This is a forum and we should present thoughts and assumptions. After all this was part of Mr. Carden's original post.If we could see the actual grip then it would not be an effective palm. Just my 2 cetavos!

Its just what it seems to me , the "Clip". So there you have it gentlemen, this is just what I suspect.

Peace,

Rannie

Once again, Paul Wilson.

The video looked good but I don't think many people (Besides magicians) hold the cards in what is the glide position. I could be wrong of course and have been many times. Will be many more times I am sure.

I disagree about sitting your butts down at the appointed time to watch this show.

Get TIVO and watch it whenever you please.

Other than that, it's a pretty good show. I watched a few of them.

Deep gambler's palm... but slow down. Hand is "guilty" looking.

It's a clip palm and is used by many professional hold out men. It's a little "performed" in the video but it's smooth. With the right speed and timing, this would be perfectly fine. I've seen this done so well it fools you even when you're looking for it. The big tell is usually a hand glued to the table after throwing in the cards. The thumb naturals up with time and practise.
