I've been playing with a russian roulette style routine for close up, 6 balls of paper, one with a name of someone close to the person written on it, all rolled up into balls, I burn 5 that are blank and they are left with the name, as I climax I reveal what the person looks like and their name.

Very visual, very personal...its not too shabby.

Do you smoke mrfluffy? And do you live in the uk? If you know what I mean by 'rollies' or roll your own ciggerets then make one using flash paper and glue and 4 others normally then do have a spec. mix them up and divine wich is which by puting it to your lips and lighting it.

Or have a prediction that is rapped in a sheet of flash paper and when its time to show your prediction light the paper and WOOF, brightness, bang there is your prediction. Theres also an idea for a double out here, simple remove the 'covering paper' (the flash paper) to reveal one prediction or burn it (thus destroying the other prediction).

Just some very, very quickly typed up thoughts.

I meant to point out that in my routine, THEY decide which ones to eliminate (no force), so it really plays very strongly.

I use to do a simple coin prediction, were id predict the the coin choosen aswell as heads or tails. Same idea as Psychomagi suggested only id place a square piece of paper on the table calling it my prediction, id ask them to choose a coin (equivoque)then to think of heads or tails. Inside the square of paper was the force coin, wrote on the paper was (on the inside, "you will think of tails that's why I put a cross on the tails side of the coin"), if they choose tails I let them remove the coin from the folded paper and read the message, if they choose heads id take a lighter and set fire to the flashpaper, then there in a flash would be there choosen coin with a cross on the tails side, my patter would change depending on the out come (there is also a presention which all make sense, plus its done with invisable coins).

Just a thought

How about doing a classic center tear on flash paper... then when you burn the torn pieces, you wouldnt have the problem of them perhaps not burning fully.

Seems a bit flashy & gimmicky though, makes it more of a magic trick than a feat of the mind. It could go either way though, depending on the presentation.
