This may or may not qualify for your definition of sawing in half, but I occassionally perform a bow saw-style sawing in half, with an audience member. That is one of a eight or so illusions I have, and I tend to favor some of my other illusions to be performed more frequently (such as sub trunk, guillotine, chair suspension, etc.) - Donald

Yes the sawing that I am having built is the same one that Criss Angel used before his TV days. For those of you that are intrested in the builder that I used whom is authorised PM me and the illusion cost me $17,250.00 (still paying as it is being built) Sorry about saying Copperfield Buzz Saw just really wanted to use that as it is the most visual that most people can think about.

I wasn't aware of any builders being authorized to build the Impossible Sawing since Creative Illusions is no longer in business after the death of Ken Whittaker. Unless it's Paul Haynes, the co founder of Creative Illusions.

I kind of wish he'd restored himself, but that entails a "move" that might have been discernable, or (HORRORS!) an edit. Still, that's my favorite sawing to date. Hanging from chains was BRILLIANT! I have the video from Creative Illusions. It has to be one of the worst produced videos of an effect ever. They do edit cuts (and it wasn't even good edit cuts) when she gets on the table, when she's separated and also when she was being put back together.
If anyone has one of these props, please contact me, maybe you can make a video of an idea that I've been thinking of with it. VJ |

On the World's Magic Awards (or something like that, LOL!), they did the illusion, where the guy's upper half got up and walked off stage...they went and got him and "restored him"...shades of Criss Angel in the park?
The restoration was not perfect (flashed), but most would not have noticed. Great show! Doug |

Ok I believe I was wrong with Brett. The cutting in half might not be from Creative Illusions. Here is the video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=MQ1zuWtECa0
Not sure who built the prop.

Bill Smith build the Brett Daniels version and it is very different from creative's version (which is used by Siegfried & Roy, Criss Angel & Paul Philippart)
Concerning Kevin James who did his version on World Magic Awards: No shades of Criss Angel in the park, Kevin was first and Criss was 'inspired' by Kevin... |

El Rafael, Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was creative then I watched the video again and realized it wasn't. Still a great piece.
