In Practical Mental Magic (pg 109) Annemann has an effect called Horrors. There have been similar effects based on more or less the same mathematical principle over the years. I feel this effect is quite clever but it seems like much more of a puzzle/trick than Mentalism. Primarily because the spectator is asked to take the cards that have his thought of word. Have any of you ever used this or a similar effect that uses the same principle - and if so how did you camouflage or explain the reason as to why the spectator must collect his/her cards?
Thanks.....
It is hard to believe a man is telling you the truth if you know that if you were in his situation you would be lying.

In order to pull this effect off one must first be great at patter and create a show to go along with the routine. Alone by itself it will be easily figured out. Remember guys who are successful often times have theatrical routines to cover the true methods.
