The Contendo Jumbo Card Fountain is activated with a switch and delay feature or for the extra $ comes with a remote control. That's great but I need to activate it with both hands full of production items and no assistant. I'm sure Contendo brothers shake their heads saying "these guys are never satisfied".
My apologies but like I said, my hands would be full at the moment. I've thought of attaching an arm to the remote to create a floor pedal? Haven't done this yet as I'm open to any other ideas first. Any ideas? |

I don't know what the remote is like, but a friend of mine had a similar situation where his hands were full and couldn't press the button. He put his on his side under his arm (mid way from the armpit to the waist). I forget how he attached it to his under clothing. Then he took a piece of wood or plastic and cut it in the shape of circle, then a smaller one was placed on that. That whole thing was attached on the inside of outer part of the clothing. When he was ready for the fountain to go off, he had his arm by his side and pressed it. The enlarged 1st disk of wood or plastic gave him more of an area to hit and the smaller piece never missed the button, nor did he ever fire it off prematurely.

Derek's friend's solution sound like a reasonalble fix. The other option would mean rewiring the whole thing and putting a magnetic reed swith on the ankles or a toe switch. But as I said you will have to have it rewired so the switch can be tied into it.
You might contact Victor or Marcello and ask them. They are not unreasonable and would understand I am sure if explain your situation to them. Richard

As a follow-up to anyone interested, the Jumbo Card Fountain comes with a nifty detachable foot switch. It's a real beauty!

Excellent information there Randy. Thanks. I was thinking of getting one in the future and that was a concern of mine. Thanks for looking into that for us. Best of luck with your act.

One thing about Victor and Marcello, they are workers and make stuff that is practical and works. That is the difference when you deal with pros.
Now if we can make one that shoots flowers into the air....... Richard

Randy,
I just had a thought..why not use a normally open reed switch and then close it with magnet.? Like the ankle remote on showtech or Majiloon products. Richard
