Hey Guys,
I've recently dug up some old magic tapes, and I came across a short scene of "Siegfried and Roy" performing 'Girl to Lion". What can I say, WOW... I presume that they have never released anything about this illusion, because it is seriously one of the most deceptive illusions I've seen. I've seen old versions of this illusion, i.e. in a steel cage, with cloths, but their verion is literally a see through glass cube. Base is super thin, and no possible hiding space what so ever! and even cameras were flying around it. If anyone has some info on this that would be mostly appreciated... - Murby |

I think it was built by Owens Magic.

The illusion is very deceptive, but why would you only think about a base? Large animal illusions utilize a lot more than just bases. You can buy a version of this illusion from Owens in which you have a girl vanish and a large dog appear and the load is the same just a smaller version. This was used in The Showgirls Of Magic show. Which is a great show if you just want to see anything but the main act (The Showgirls). Roy Shank also built a great tiger production chamber that uses the same principle as the one S&R use. It's out there you just have to find it.

Caveat Lector,
The reason I think "base" is because it's a see through flexiglass box. That's it! Methods seem to be impossible. I was blown away! Thanks anyways for the info, I'll do some research on this one for sure.. -Murby |

Ohh I forgot to mention, the reason why I was particularly blown away was the fact that the plexibox was not on a platform or anything for that matter, just on the stage!

That is the BEST girl to lion Ever period Dirk Arthur has a cat production with the same method of cat concealment but *** the S&R one is BY FAR a better illusion.
