It's too bad you didn't get the word. For some reason it wasn't well advertised...or advertised at all. Which was good for those of us that attended the lecture as there were only a handful of people so everyone got a good seat. It was unfortunate for all those that didn't know as I'm sure a lot more would have shown up. I just happened to see a post here on the Café (thank you magic Café) by Jim Pace to Dave about the lecture and called MagicFest to find out about it. There was nothing about it on the local club's sites or even MagicFest's site...and it was out at MagicFest! . I just saw Jim Pace and Barrie Richardson lecture in Sept,15, Why Mark don't tell me?>_<, Dave is my Favorites teacher? I just miss the lecture, hope he will give me for in later! |

I know I can't wait to have him come back to the Northwest area again. It was a great night of magic. I stopped in again the next day and he was still in town. Luckily I was able to get a two coin gimmick manuscript before he left. In the next couple weeks I am going to order a rattle gimmick. I had never seen it used before. And now I have a new favorite toy to wait for.
Watching his magic makes me realize how much more I want to keep learning and practicing. |

Actually,
I am looking forward to seeing David Neighbors do his stuff someday. I don't know much about Matrix other than the one I thought of. Thought of conning someone to get me into Denver for a lecture. Then I thought of conning him to do a lecture in Minneapolis. Then I though of going to bed. Actually, I came up with a new version of Matrix. However, because I am so behind on it I would need to see what is going around to avoid something that has already been done. I spend a lot of time with Physics, fortune telling, computers, sword fighting, a woman. Err, you know how it goes. Nice hearing about all of this. Al
Magic Al. Say it fast and it is magical.

Dave,
You and I talked about a workshop last Wednesday night at Billy Reeds. If we could set that up in the next year, let me know what I would have to do to help get it together. That would be one killer coin workshop! Any fellow northwest magicians interested? Let us know! Brian |

Hey Dave,
That sounds awesome. I have been reading your Japan notes. Seriously some great coin items in there. My fiance said she was floored by what you showed her on thursday. She enjoyed meeting you at the shop. Now everytime I show her something with coins, she will say "but David did that a lot better..." Take care man, give me a call when you get time. Brian |

Who else has had the pleasure of sitting down with Dave for a session at dinner? What was the effect that kept telling your brain that this guy isn't really human? In other words, what is your favorite effect that Dave did at that session?

I met dave about oh, 10 years ago in columbus, ohio. He did a lecture in a pet hospitial. It was awesome, (as can be expected by dave) dave has a real touch for smoothness and subtltey. I recommend dave to ANYONE in magic.
Oh, and if you have been fortunate to see his stand up act.. (ex. bill in orange in ballon..inflated) A REAL KNOCK OUT! Justin Miller |

I am fortunate enough to call Dave not only my favorite teacher but also a dear friend. I've known Dave @ 15 years and whenever he vists the Chicago area it is usually as my house guest. He truly can go non-stop from morning till night, we've done it many times.
I know Dave is known as "a coin guy" but don't let that fool you. Coins, cards, rubberbands, safety pins, sponges, it doesn't matter, put them in Dave's hands and the magic just happens. He's the only magician I know that can make an audience tell him to STOP because their brain can't take it anymore! I'm serious, if you don't know Dave's work your missing out on some of magic's best stuff!! |
