Does anyone make an appearing wand that is like the plastic appearing canes? The only appearing "wands" I've seen are either 8 feet long or about three feet long and made of metal. We had a few appearing "wands" laying around Magic Inc. that were made of metal and looked like garbage after a few appearances (or should I say, telescopings; to verb a word).

Can't Fantasio make an appearing wand that looks like a wand and is the length of a wand? Am I the only person that would use such a thing?

I use the production of a solid wand, as detailed in Gene Anderson's lecture notes. I modified the handling by using an ungimmicked purse - it's a David Harkey idea. I simply pull the wand from a change purse - works great in my Flipstick routine.

The harakan appearing wands look great and hold up. They are metal, hard to find, and expensive but worth every penny.

Write Fantasio and ask if he could make you one. It might be something he would consider adding to the line.

Alan,
I've thought about that, but I really like the flash appearance of the canes.

Richard,
Where do you get the Harakan wands? I was thinking of writing to Fantasio but first I wanted to make sure what I wanted didn't alrady exist.

Hi Edd:

I noticed that Joe Stevens is selling the Harakhan canes; maybe he also has an appearing wand somewhere. His website is http://www.stevensmagic.com

A few years ago, Houdini's Magic Shop had a full page advertisement in MAGIC magazine for the Harakhan wands - I believe they were the appearing wands. That may be another lead.

Other than that, I see them occasionally on ebay. As Richard said, they are very well made and will hold up.

Good luck in your quest.

I agree with Alan's post about the production of a solid wand. There are many ways you can do this to be able to fit it into your routine and style of performance.

Gene Anderson's notes are really a great resource.

Also the Russ Walsh / fabjance made an appearing wand. I might have one that I could sell. I will have to look though. PM if you still are interested.

Actually, you can make a solid wand appear instantly. You would need a silk as momentary cover, however. It's rather startling, when I perform it in my act.

You could always produce a solid wand from a purse frame or small change pursue.

Anyone find a updated source for these wands? The India versions on the market are horrible.

I do an appearance of a solid wand just using basic and modified form of flip stick moves. It works great and becuase it is a solid wand I can use it during the act or show and then reuse it later in the act to vanish it as a transition into something else.

Same here Kyle I also use the flip stick moves. I bought some very expensive wands at National at the SAM covention a few years ago. I forgot who made them put the gentleman was with tendo the wands also split and change colors and one even appears with fire. They are sold in the Harakan cases.

Yeap. I know who you are talking about. I also took a look at those same wands but ended up not getting them. Part of me wishes I had. I love the flip stick moves and ideas and utilize them a lot in my current manipulation act.

Fabjance is out of business. You best look on used magic sites. Either get the Walsh or Harkkan wands.
