Brent:
Thanks for the kind words. I do appreciate that and I hope that you have found some of this information of help to you. Even if one little thing helps someone, that makes me feel a lot better. =) You are right that there ARE poor childrens perfomers and yes it makes our jobs even that much harder. However, we can make a difference by NOT allowing ourselves to fall into that common pitfall. Raise yourself above all of that and force yourself to learn and take the time needed to make your show as entertaining as you can. If you always strive to go that extra mile, your audiences will see the difference and your clients will come back to you time and again because you offer something that the others simply can not even come close to grasping. Den: Great advice as alaways here. Thanks for sharing. You are abolsutely right. The hardest part about learning to become entertaining with your magic is through the simple but often tough act of TAKING ACTION. It is so easy to talk about doing an entertaining show or even saying you will do an entertaining trick, but none of that means anything unless you are willing to take ACTION and make it happen for yourself. Sure you may fail at first, but each failure is a stepping stone to success and you will indeed learn from every experience. Go out there and perform and do so as much as you can to get the experience. Do not be afriad to try and test out new things and be honest with yourself on how they go over for you. Kyle

Some of the best material has come from mistakes or unexpected comments. After the show write them down and try to repeat them...The good ones, not the bad ones like dropping the appearing cane.

Exactly! I always try and vieo tape my shows. If I can't I always bring a notebook with me so that I can write down things that went right, things that were adlibbed that worked well and things I need to change. This way I am constant evlauating myself to make sure I am giving the best entertainment I can.
