I have dealt with a lot of exotics in my time, and I worked very heavily with Scorpions. In particular I have worked with Fat Tails, Yellow Fat Tails, Death Stalkers, and the like. I have never heard of any rubber caps to put on a scorpion's sting, nor would I recomend it. Scorpions are incredibly fragile creatures that stress out very easily, and the stress of trying to put something over it's sting could actually kill it. If anyone reading this is working with scorpions in their act I would recomend using either Israeli Gold's or Emporer Scorpions depending on the look you want to go for. These types of scorpions tend to not use their sting very much, and rely on the massive strength of their over sized claw. On the off chance you do get stung it is not much worse than a bee sting, coincedently if you are alergic to bees in the sleightest do not work with scorpions as the venom is extremely similar and will give you the same reactions. If you've been stung by any scorpion, go to the hospital, don't mess around with trying to get another venom to counter-act the first scorpion. What you are reffering to is called anti-venin which is a compound that is synthesized out of the original venom. It's not something that occurs in nature. Just thought I would throw that little safety tip out there. Do you homework before working with any exotics in your show.
On another note, I enjoyed the story pkg. It was quite interesting. I'm a pagan myself hailing from the Norse tradition, and you set my mind ablaze with some of the stories I had heard as a child. I am going to point you back to Mr. Townsend's words though, be carefull slinging the words evil and pagan around in the same paragraph. I'm fairly certain I'm not evil, despite what many other spiritual people would say about me and my heathen brethren. Just a cautionary thing. Hitting hard with magic is fun, and can be a powerfull experience, but at the same time is elegant magic not also just as powerfull for an audience if done correctly? I believe that much of the magic out there today is done just for shock value and this saddens me. Some of the most magical moments I've ever seen have little if any shock value, but were far more powerfull to me than any magic that "freaked" me out. Just some of my thoughts. |

Thanks MetalBender. the use of pagan and evil at the same time was just to relate to the christian mentality around here (in the middle east). SADLY enough both are linked as one word, one meaning (again, around this part of the world...christianity is linked to evil in most arabic countries...)
I didn't mean to offend anyone. and please do accept my sincerest apologies.
Double posters should be shot!

I think most religions can be evil, not for there views but those who apparently practise them.
A sham as the fundementals of most religions are peaceful. A.R.
