"BAR MAGICIAN" by Todd Diamond
Just wanted to let you guys know about a book I read recently and wanted to give my two cents on this. I liked it very much, I thought that for a working magician in a bar it is a must, If not for the effects alone the performance advice that they give in this book. I was skeptical at first about getting this and went out on a limb to do so, I became very happy with what I read. If you perform for the real world in and out of bars but at the same time you know that you are there to serve drink then you should check this out. My favorite effect on this book was Nummus Incurvus (The extreme coin bending routine) I cant really say to much but it is very visual and quick. As a matter of fact here is the page http://www.sundragonmagic.com/barmagician.htm Check it out and see for your self, Its also available in e-book. WOW hard to beleave that I'm not getting paid for this but hey I liked the book and I thought I would help them out by letting you guys know about it.

Thanks for letting us know you opinion. Do you think this book would provide infos that are useful in other countries like for example Germany, I mean is it written specificly for the US bar magic situation?

Wow, What a great question. I would have to say that most of the material would be usefull out of the u.s. I have used a lot of the material in asia with no problems at all. As for the advise on tips, handling people, and the general stuff on running the bar I am not sure as I have never bartended in Germany. But the magic for sure would work anywere with some practice of course.LOL If you have any questions feel free to contact me I would love to help.
Paisa, thanks for the review. Mikes coin bend happens to be my favorite coin bend as well. We worked hard on the book and it really seems like it is a sleeper of 2005. We have sold a few and have had great responses but for some reason people have not jumped on it. Now I am not complaining at all, it is something Mike and I wrote as a labor of love. Anyway if anyone is interested or has questions of course feel free to ask. Thanks And DRINK UP Todd |

Yeah, I like that coin bend too
Thanks for the kind words Paisa, I'm glad you liked the material. Calexa - Unfortunately all of the material in Bar Magician has been banned in Germany... something about it being too magical and shocking. However, there is a growing European "Bar Magician" underground movement that can hook you up Seriously though... the routines are pretty universal and would play well for just about any adult audience (bars, restaurants, parties, etc.). Todd's "Last Call" routine, which is very cool btw, would work very well in a coffee house, but since that's the bonus effect of the book, I'll say no more about it Best to all, Mike (Todd - Got your e-mail, will call you on the cell asap) |

Mike is right, Last call would work in a coffee house, In fact I use it were ever there is a coffee cup, and some creamers. I still use this to this day, I have a special ending that is not in print so for those of you that have bought the book please contact me and I will fill you in. For proof of purchace please tell me what Mike says about me at the end of the book. Then I will share the ending, by the way the special ending is something that will end up on our Bar Magician Dvd when we get to work on it.
