Well tonight I just about finished it...
Tomorrow I will add another coat of paint due to the bleedthrough of the wood putty in spots, next time I'll use new plywood instead of scraps, that's for sure! I also have to clearcoat it. My digital camera was acting up but I took some pics with my cell-phone. As I said before I wanted a more magical/medeival type of illusion instead of the standard packing crate types I always see. Please excuse my cellar its an absolute mess. Anyhow here are some quick pictures : http://www.subcultureproductions.com/works.html All in all its sturdy, usable (been testing as we go) and the pictures really don't do it justice, looks wonderful. I really wish I would have paid attention in wood shop class though. Of course this whole experience gave me more confidence and I'm now looking for the next illusion to build. I have to also add the hasp and lock tomorrow after finishing painting/clear coating. There will also be chains wrapped around the box on both sides with padlocks as a convincer... Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions, I'm amazed I did this myself! Steven |

Hey Steven - isn't a cellar meant to look like that?
Good job - looks great to me! |

Lucky for you guys I cropped out most of the mess
Thanks, finishing up this week and starting to practice the effect. Looking for the next illusion to build now, anyone with suggestions, I'm all ears. Steven |
