I searched all through the Forum, and didn't find a review to this product.. Can anyone say anything about it? Specially about the reset and the 'mess' with the salt.. I work table hopping at a restaurant, and I prefer tricks with automatic reset.
Thanks! Torselli. |

I wrote a small review for this product a year ago, I think.
Very good effect. But, there is no auto-reset in this routine. Its possible to reset the salt shaker in a real performing setting. If you use a topit this routine is even more magical! Some years ago I saw a rip off of Ring in Salt from east europe... Yo can see this effect here: http://www.el-duco.se/ |

I don't own this but have seen and handled the included props. To me this looks nothing like any kind of salt shaker I've ever seen before in the real world and therefore for me this made this thing a big no-no.

Someone gave me the "rip off(???)" version (made in Russia) and I assume it is the same method... much like a B**L T**E.

I agree the salt shaker in not a normal looking salt shaker by any stretch but this can easily be explained away by the fact that you have to carry it in your pocket. The routine is very nice and the props work well. The reset is an issue that has kept me from using it. You should probably have a little funnel and some sort of small flexible plastic to dump the salt onto so you can easily load it back in at the end. If reset is not an issue, this is a great effect, especially because the ring appears burried in the salt as opposed to just sitting on top of the salt when the lid is unscrewed and removed.

I have this one and I love it. I peform it everytime. It is a great qualaity and the spectator can't see any preparations on the salt shaker. Never anybody tells me thant it isn't a real salt shaker. I tell the peopel every time that there is magic salt inside.
It is a very clean handling and the spectator can hold the salt shaker the hole routine ecxept for the beginning. I love I. Get it and I think you will not be disapionted. Markus |

I have gotten this effect recently from Hanklee and noted that my salt shaker does not have the Capital "S" word print on the outer layer of the shaker.
For those who have this effect, is this supposed to be the case where previously when you bought this effect, the word "S" is there but not anymore now? The reason being that the ad (picture) shows a salt shaker with the word "S". I am concerned whether the product that I have mentioned is genuinely from El Duco (also noted that the instruction sheet is photocopied instead of original). Would really appreciate if someone could give me some feedback, so much so that the salt shaker that I received gave me a lot of troubles as the "thing" just seem to stuck with the metal and cannot "come out". Thank you in advance! |

I saw a magician do this effect with rise many years ago, it worked out well.
This effect looks impossible, When the spectator pours out the salt and the borrowed ring falls out in the last moment they will freak out Strong magic. |

I have always loved performing this effect and have done so since it fiorst came out. It looks impossible to the audience, period. PLUS, there is a great laugh available to you when after you make the ring vanish and are about to show where it is, look very confident and ask your participant to open the lid of the salt shaker and tell everyone what they see (as if they will find their ring) and they will say "salt" and you look at them and say "It's a salt shaker, what did you expect?!?!". Gets a big laugh every time.
