For my Twins ending I just say- and then one day the red headed women and the red headed men(showing the red queen and king) and the black haired women and the black haired men all met up with each other and had a party. And then I make the cards like dance around lol. This way they can be examined.

I never reveal more than one card at a time. and never, never reveal all four cards. I believe that it kills the mystery. I love this routine, Brother john hamman's twins routine. IT is the finale to my card sequence in every show, formal and impromptu.

I seem to recall an ending for "The Twins" definitely not for family presentations, based on Paul Harris' "Strange Twist"...

I think you need to displace the cards in the end instead of showing them. When I show that the first red headed woman found a red headed man, I say "and they went home together" and then I put them into two different places in the deck. And then I show that the other red headed woman found another red headed man and "they also went home and lived happily ever after" and insert them into the deck. All evidence is gone and the deck can now be examined. Or to maintain the flow you can wait and insert all 4 cards into the deck by saying "and they all went home and lived happily......"
In my opinion you shouldn't show the 4 different cards in the end, that will tell people you just fooled them with four different cards by using sleight of hand. This is magic and supposed to be performed that way - people should think that you magically changed the cards constantly througout the routine - or at least the should be left with that as a possibility. By showing the different 4 cards in the end you take that away from the effect. This is a cute and funny history/effect - but remember its more than a story - its magic. In my opinion it should be performed as magic leaving no way out. |

I agree with what most have said. Don't ruin the climax of twins by showing all four card as they actually are. When you do that you have lost the hard hitting ending.
If you want an extra ending to the routine check out Bill Malones dvd set call Bill Malone On The Loose. |

Good point. Bill's extra ending adds a nice touch. Good set too btw!

How about mixing Bill Malone's ending with Vraagaard's:
"And they had 4 little red headed boys..." (Malone On The Loose), "eager to make new friends..." (Vraagaard Ditch). Or maybe "eager to go out into the world..." I will try this idea at my next performance of Gemini Twins. |

Depending on the audience, I sometimes add a displacement at the ending and it takes on a gay theme. As you can imagine, it can add to the story. the displacement involves someone sneaking out in the dead of night ... but of course they are all sneaking around. Again, this depends on the audience, but it has made people laugh AND it's magic. And no, I don't show all the cards at the end.
However, I think that Twins is at least half story, half magic. |
