Hello:
Go to http://www.floraco.com and buy the "Kid Show Tutorial" audio tape (I hope you have a cassette tape player). There is a terrific mouth coil routine on this tape by Brian Flora. If you prefer videotape, the same site has a videotape of Docc Hilford doing the mouth coil routine. The tape is called "20 Minutes with a Balloon." Or, buy the Dan Garrett DVD from Frank - he has good prices. Good luck to you. Ron Reid |

I have a very simple routine where I vanish a blue silk in my hand, make it re-appear. After this, you ask the kids their favorite color and tell them you will make the silk change to their favorite color. Since everyone yells out different colors, then tell them to imagine their favorite color, then to reach into the air and grab all their colors and throw them at the blue silk. They keep missing and finally they really miss and throw them in your mouth. You mumble with funny face expressions here and finally reach into your mouth and produce your mouth coil. There are many possibilities here to add your own humor.

One tip - when you bring it out at first, do it slowly and in stages and make shocked faces, then give it to a kid to pull out, walking to the other side of the room
of everything I do for kids this is the one they marvel at the most - brilliant inventions felix |

I use to not do this because the kids always say "yuck" when I hand the coil to them to pull, but wait a few seconds and they can't resist grabbing the paper and pulling it out.

As mentioned above, You will want to wait and leave it as just the white paper being restored. Then go on to pull it out some more and act in shock when the color starts to happen. This pausing is really crucial to the audience understanding of the effect and for the helper to have time to register in their minds before the comedy of the colors starts to happen.
