Yeah I keep trying and it doesn't bent, I ca't sometimes get my arm together so much it wont go any further, whywont it bend?

I don't think the point of the elbow thing is to bend the pin; it is simply that the pin is squeezed up in your elbow without sticking you. Maybe some can bend the pin this way. I can't.

You are correct, Bill - the pin in the elbow doesn't bend, it just looks like it's being driven way into the flesh of the arm.
