Hi Peeps,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this... I just saw a great coin matrix routine which blew me away. I saw it on "Le Plus Grand Cabaret Du Monde" on a French TV Channel.

If anyone has seen this, do you know the name of that performer? I've seen a handful of coin matrix routine , but his presentation is unique and his handling is quite different from the others.

It was Armando Lucero today at TV5 Europe (France)
First time I saw him..great work!

Very original routine and moves...

Only comment I have has nothing to do with Armando, but the editing seemed a little too jumpy.
The routine would have played more clear if they just would have used one single shot.
I feel sorry for him they did not place Monica Belluci next to him. Bummer!

I could see and tape the routine this evening.
Amazing ! Especially the last part with the single (?)coin. No clue

Impossible to even guess when done in real speed, unfortunately to figure out (NOT to 'se') when run in slowmotion..though one needs a little knowledge re the possibilities.
It's a shame one can capture those performances, would be better one didn't have a clue..

I'm full of praise re his handling, it's incredibly smooth and well thought out.

In case of the last coin it actually is done 'on the off beat'- nobody will ever notice in a real life performance, but it's not that easy to do, precisionwork!

Armando Lucero is one of the best close-up magician I've eve seen. I'd like to see more of his works in the future!

Now that I know how Armando does his last sequence I am sorry that I found out. I was totally captivated (and baffled) by it.

However, knowing how HARD IT IS TO DO gives me more appreciation for his work on a different plane.

When Armondo did last coin in Finnish convetion he maybe blew the more or something but at least all the magicians in the audience caught it Otherwise the routine was very very good, but I preferred his card work, especially the any named card with jokers.

It takes soooo much to succed, and Armando does it incredibly well.

No doubt there can be a *failure* once in a while, but, judging from, that Armando is a pro, I can't imagine he would do it if it wasn't surefire for him!

The successfull execution of this *move* depends on may things (I would NEVER dare to use it!)
F.ex. the surface of the table, the smoothness, the condition of ones hand, is is sticky, dry, or what?, the corrcet handling and also the buckle of the card.
Remember, the moment the card *moves* this would be a giveaway..
How to avaid this?
Only through considerable practise and I suppose also one has to know the *give* of the tables surface very well before attempting to do the move..

But it's good, others don't attempt to copy his handling (BTW it somehow is a BIG motification of an old handling of Paul Gertner), as they most likely wouldn't do it near as good as Armando does do it..he simply MUST do it to perfection, otherwise he wouldn't dare to do it..
Just my own thoughts on this..

When Armando ever decides to show/publish his handling, this SOLELY can be shown correctly by use of a glass table, with the camera below the table!
