Hi, I made a post about his revolutionary card magic in the card forum, but I also want to get his revolutionary coin magic one. So, is it good? It looks good, but I want to get info from people who have some experience on this dvd. Plus, look at my post in the card magic forum for those of you who havent already. Thanks.

I noticed everything out there by Jay Sankey is subject to controversy. Either you love him or you hate him... If you do a search this subject has been very recently discussed in this forum. You'll find everything you need in it. To sum up if you buy the DVD for the coin magic, you won't be disappointed I think. You certainly won't use everything there, but you'll definitely learn good stuff: this DVD has tons of routines, moves and ideas inside. Some people complained about Jay's style and the so-called profanity, but it all depends on what you want. I recommend it personally.

I actually started with Jay's Revolutionary Coin Magic DVD before I bought Michael Ammar, Roth, Rubinstein, etc. Jay's thoughts and original takes on routines are really impressive but you need a basic, working knowledge of sleights to take full advantage of the routines.
As for his bizarre demeanor - it annoyed me, but easily solved with liberal use of the fast forward button. ;-) Dan

In my opinion, I've heard more profanity walking past a preschool. It's really not bad...He could've been on something, who knows. It's just entertainment. I almost bust a gut every time I watch it.

If you do a search you will find everything you could possibly want to know about this DVD. The whole subject, especially the profanity issue, has been discussed here ad nauseam, and quite recently too.

Also, besides the profanity (really not that much at all - grow up people, geeeshhhh!) there are some really good coin moves and thinking from the guy. So he's a little "different," so was Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor. The magic is to me what's the larger part of the pie. Must be so, as Jay's sold as many of his dvd's as anyone out there, not to mention, the guy is extremely popular and creatively talented magician. Don't let a few curses, make you throw the baby out with the bathwater here.

I think this dvd has some great practical methods and routines, worth getting the basics down first before gertting into revolution.

Rev. Coin Magic is great. Just so you know, a lot of people claim that the best stuff from it is also on the Very Best Of Jay Sankey video collection.
I sort of agree with that. But there is still a lot of stuff on Rev. Coin Magic that is great. The coin through table routine is awesome. And check out the cannibal coin routine. Forget the name but it's great. Not easy to do but great. Although most people don't care for the bonus material, I love Underground Railroad. Fun little coin across effect.

I agree with cfrancis - Jay's Revolutionary Coin Magic is chock full of brilliant routines that have greatly influenced the way I perform. I personally like the bonus material - although the navigation to it is not immediately apparent.
Oh yeah, the second I saw Jay's coin through table (and reverse pop up) in his online demo, I was blown away and hooked in to get the DVD! -Dan

He makes good use of the Tenkai pinch, and I really enjoyed his Mexican coins across. Good ideas there.

I personally think its one of the best coin DVD's that I own. Some very clever stuf on there. Although Sankey may not be to everyone's taste, his magic is second to none.

Jay is repulsively funny and that's a compliment. He performs his coin sleights so effortlessly and adroitly. My only criticism of the video was there was not enough cursing in French.
