Hi was wondering if anyone here could provide any resources for tearing telephone books in half. This is something I'd really like to do, and I have no idea where to turn for info on this. Thanks- Mark

Honestly I'm don't know if there is an actual secret to this effect. It might just be possible that someone actually does it. If your refering to when Criss Angel does it, look at how ripped he is, david blaines the same way. Ive never seen anyone else do it.

Im pretty sure David Blaine only ripped up a deck of cards, Mark was refering to ripping a telephone directory in half, anyway good luck with it.

This is an old strong man stunt. It is not a magic trick. So sharing the secret is fine with me:
Break the binding first, then start to pull the book apart. With the binding broken, the pages just rip. The hardest part is to break the binding.

Hi,

I found this website http://www.heavysports.com/emag/Clay_Edgin/phonebooks.html

I've not tried it, but looks like it works from the pictures.

And as we're breaking stuff I also found this that you guys might want to try: http://www.castledarkmoor.com/strongman/fryingpan.WMV

A good tip is to put the telephone book in a microwave for a little while, this makes it a lot easier to tear.
