Magicguy, this question has been asked and answered several times in this forum. Try using the search function. This is exactly why you need to buy some books and videos about doves. You might even want to check out your library and read up on Doves in general. There is a wealth of information out there about breeding, raising and taking care of birds.
Doves are no different than any other animal. When they have babies, they know what to do and don't usually need help from humans. Just leave them alone for about 6 weeks after birth and don't handle the baby. Make sure they have plenty of food and water.

Just take care of the parents and remember that the adults' feeding schedules may change a little. Keep plenty of fresh water and food there. Allow for natural length light to match days and nights. Doves are short night breeders.
Enjoy the experience. The parents will still feed the baby for several days after it leaves the nest. Don't take it from its parents until it has feathers UNDER its wings and you have seen it feed and water itself. The parents may start another nest sooner than the baby is really on its own. It will be on the ground but not perching to roost. They have been doing this by themselves for centuries! For them, it works. Enjoy your doves. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |
