I don't know if this makes any sense, as I haven't heard many people "Performing" Origami, But I was wondering how many might be interested in that sort of topic? It might do well in the Ballooning/Clowning area. I have found that it does go well with the general Idea, and can be used in many effects, and entertainments.

I got a book many years ago on the art of paper cutting. It's an absolutely beautiful thing to see. It apparently (if memory severs me) and oriental art form like origami. I wonder if they could be combined somehow. I know the paper cutting isn't very popular, but it is an incredible art form related to origami.

Just a thought.
