Jamie makes ALL my coins. And it is true if you put Jamie's next to Todd's you cannot see a differance..they are both great. My fav is my cylinder and coins. I respect him and HE IS A GOOD FRIEND. If you are a customer of Todd's and you are happy with his work and customer relations then please continue to go through him. But if you are looking for some wonderful gaff coins and a great guy to do buisness with then Jamie is the one to talk to.

No worries Blenderboy. You could do what I generally do and PM them and work it out that way. I have had some really interesting discussions with people I initially had disagreements with.
You have to admit though there is A LOT to learn from the so called Geezer club. If it weren't for the Geezers we wouldn't have much of a place to start learning this stuff. |

I think it could be argued that the expanded shell is the most versitle coin gaff ever.

Without that book, I'd still only be using a flipper coin to put one of two coins thru a cloth napkin the way I learned from watching Mr. Swadling.

"Hopping Half and Perambulating Penny"...atleast that's what it was called back in '73 when I purchased the set at the Magic Shop in Disney World (Orlando, Fla) for $20. Made by Jo-Pro.

Peo, To answer your question, I like Lassen's flipper alot. I don't have Jamie's, so I don't know the differences. Sounds like jussy's post states there really isn't any difference. Tom

Hopping Half is my favorite.
I love the way you wind up clean at the end. And resets quickly.

Today, I don't carry much with me, as I only "perform" in special situations. I do, however, carry my Johnson Expanded Quarter Shell, along with four quarters in my little squeeze-open coin holder. I only ring that in, when I've done a few "sleights' without the gimmick, and when that's done...if a shotglass is availble, a very visible Coins Thru The Table is my favorite finale. You young people (BLAAAAT! Geezer Alarm), darn...I mean, new magicians would do well with just a quarter shell and four quarters...you can get at least 5 - 10 minutes out of that. Thanks to everyone for the input. I went ahead and purchased a flipper half dollar from Penguin Magic for $14.95 with free shipping. Based on the video I saw on another site this should be a killer routine. Dave

I have several that I like. The Hopping Half has to be my favorite though. I like multi purpose sets. With the Hopping Half I get a Sun Moon and two expanded shells. Very nice. I can do several routines with this or a sub set of this.
I also have an expanded shell for my silver dollars. I'm going to pick up a flipper coin today. I heard that Johnson is making a magnetic one. Of course Scotch and Soda is without saying a classic. I'm considering making a wallet for my coins. It will have pockets for each different set along with one pocket where I will store my two Peace silver dollars that are highly shined. I use these for straight manipulations. |

To Larry,
Never seen Peta Wilson? My goodness. She was the star of the series La Femme Nikita. Just go to Google and click on the images link. Then type in "Peta Wilson" and you'll get dozens of pictures. Denny Loomis
