Do you think that a "single-o" would work in a North Carolina Flea Market?

Heh, your right, after all it's only 30-60 bucks a month depending on where your stall is...its worth the risk I think.

It's what North Carolina needs. It's not all that North Carolina needs, but it's a start.

For great tips on how to work an single-O in a flea market, contact Doug Higley. He has been working this sort of setting with exhibits for a long time, and has some excellent ideas that break with many of the sideshow traditions, but which I have found to be very useful.
Here is a review of Doug's ebook: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=159 Yours, Paul |

Whether North Carolina needs it remains to be seen. The real question is, do YOU need it? And the answer is YES.
Now talk to Doug, and he'll help you figure out how to make them want to need it.

Having lived in North Carolina for 17 years, I can agree that N.C. needs a lot of things. Which flea market were you thinking about? Just curious.

A Single-o is a single exhibit attraction. There are a number of them on the midway. The World's Smallest Horse, The Snake Girl Illusion, Worlds Biggest Pig, The Gorilla Girl, etc. Unlike a Ten-In-One sideshow that has ten acts in the show, these shows have only one thing on display or performed. If is something on display of a non-human nature(like the World's Smallest Horse) it is also known as a grind show because there is no performance with a beginning or end to it.

You're not a moron yet, just uneducated. Probably most of us who post here, wouldn't have know a single-O by name, when we were your age.
Wait til you're mid-twenties, and THEN you can call yourself a moron.

UK version is a walkround show (Cos the speckies just walk round it).Only three left in the UK unless you count mirror shows(Which I don`t).
Out of interest what is a Wall of Death classed as in the US? Ken. Mid 50`s Moron who is still uneducated!!! |

A Wall of Death or Motordrome is too big to be considered a Single-O. It's a Back End Show like a Ten-In-One.

Thanks Todd.
Over here it`s positioned as side stuff ie Goose Fair position in the show corner,, such shows are now blown out by rides such as the Rotor, no logic to the way Tobers are set out any more. Its all chequer plate in prime position with showline (If any) Blocked out,,,,a complete reversal to the original!. |
