Hello all, I was sitting down and watching a copy of my Worlds Greatest Magic (The One Hosted by John Ritter... Not Sure what Number) Video that I had to pull out of the bottom of the pile.
I was watching the act by Jonathan David Bass and he had multiple effects where his gloves were removed and visibly turned into billiard size bouncy balls. Anyone have any ideas of what this effect this is? It is very visual and very impressive! -Jared |

It's a silk-to-egg sort-of-dealy. The ball is inside the glove, take the gloves off and stuff it inside the ball? Maybe there is some sort of pull that pulls the (thin material) glove inside of it?
Heh, no idea. I vaguely remember this one... There is something else kinda sorta like this where the magician takes off his gloves and they turn into a thing of spring flowers. Derek Merdinyan |

The effect is not something on the market, at least I don't think it is. I know the method to how the effect is accomplished but can't dicuss that here.

First off, I agree in that I do not think this is a readily available effect and I think it is one that Jonathan David Bass developed himself to work spefically for his own act and the character he portrays.
It is great to be inspired by other magicians and to learn and study them for our own personal growth. Just be careful in how closely you watch and study a magician in that you do not find yourself stealing another performers routine or developing an act that is too similar to someone elses. I am not at all implying you are doing so. I just see too many young magicians look towards other magic tapes for creativity when they really should be looking away from them. There are certainly much better ways to work out the creative mind. Just my two cents worth. Kyle

Well said Kyle. Btw, the white gloves to spring flowers is a cute and visual opener. I use to do this for an opener at kids shows to some music, I also performed the flower wallet routine.
