I recall using the once popular fanny packs to carry items. They were actually pretty cool. Great for walk around, as they strapped around your waist, and had plenty of room for a great many items.

Do they still make these I wonder? Smile

I get mine from Wal-Mart. I use mine all the time to carry a little this and that so I'm always prepared to amaze on a moments notice.

I have one that is made for fishermen. It has the normal pouch in front, but also extra pouches with pockets (perfect for decks, coins jumbo cards etc) on either side. Available at sporting goods and outdoor sports stores.

Gee guys, I really thought they quit making the fanny packs. Guess I'll have to run out and pick me up a couple! Smile

Here in the Northeast at least is a chain of outdoor stores named Eastern Mountain Sports that has a great variety of fanny packs. All shapes and sizes.

REI is an outdoor sports store chain. I know they’re in Washington, Oregon and Idaho at least. They specialize in Rock climbing and backpacking equipment and supplies. I’m sure there is a suitable substitute somewhere in No Cal.

Wilsons Leather (in most malls) has some nice-looking leather fanny packs. I use mine in lieu of pockets when running errands to and from the gym (no pockets in the sweats and t-shirt) but there's still always at least a hot rod packed away in there.

I know Empire Magic
http://www.empiremagic.com
has a close up pouch which is very similar to a fanny pack, but made specifically for magic.

Sorry for spelling/grammer! Been at work for 12 hours now, and have more to go. Plus who types good at 3 in the morning anyway?

My dad recently gave me this little pouch that attaches to your belt. It has a pocket PERFECT size for a deck. A little pouch perfect for my coin effects, then a hiddenish pocket I put my spongeballs in. Then enough room for a small amount of cards for the card warp and stuff.

Sorry this is an old topic I am replying to but I am new lol. Smile

What is a "fanny pack"? Smile
I'm not being sarcastic but fanny means something different in the UK. Smile

Sorry, it just gave me the giggles. Smile

Fanny pack indeed.

Damion,
You're right; "fanny" means something totally different in North America than in the U.K.
It's a sort of webbed belt with a bag attached; it was originally designed to be worn around the waist with the bag at the back, sort of sitting on your "fanny". (Again, in North America that's the part of the anatomy that YOU sit on, too; not, as in the U.K., a part of the female anatomy!)
Once again, we find ourselves divided by a common language! Smile
cheers,

Damion, it's what we English speakers call a Bum Bag.

Maybe we English and American speakers should adopt a translation of the Spanish word for this little pouch. "Rińonera," which derives from KIDNEY. Hmmm, A kidney bag. After all, it does sit closer to a kidney than to either a fanny or a bum!

Sam's Club has the commercial size ... six fannies to a pack.

Sorry. I just don't have no resistance and Peter M. is my role model.

And now, I'm off to join the Pun-ic Wars,
