Anyone want to share a few good lines, for when a coin drops during a performance?
I usually just smile and laugh a little and pick up the coin, saying something like, 'wow, easy come, easy go!' but a few funny lines would be nice

'I call that the floor vanish'.
'I'll pick that up later (look at watch for a few seconds) Ok its later' 'I'll get it later when I'm sweeping the floor' If its in reach of someone at the table have them pick it up and as they do, drop another one. Keep repeating this cycle as long as necessary. This makes the 'drop' seem as though it was planned. Chad |

When you bend down to pick it up with your right hand secretly toss it behind your left knee and catch it in your left hand.
Hold your right hand out to the spectator (palm down) as if passing him the coin. and make it truly disappear in his hands. Nice and Simple. |

A line from Jim Cellini, which I use all the time when I drop something -
"I've magic in my blood (pause for effect) it just hasn't reached my fingers yet!" That and "Is that gravity, or does the earth just suck?" |

Chadmagic,
"OK, it's later" and "if it had fallen up I would never be able to reach it" are two of the funniest lines I have come across in a long while! |

Chad's lines are very good, thanks for those. They make a great excuse to do a muscle pass coin falls up thing immediately after you drop it. I'll have to drop my coins more often!

Hi everyone,
I don't have a line per say but a small trick to "fool" your audience even more when you drop a coin on the floor. Have a coin hidden in the exterior side of your turned up pants cuffs (nobody will notice even if you have only 1 pants cuff turned up, but it is better when your pants are made this way) So after you drop the coin on the floor, you can say something to the effect of:"Oh darn, but check this out, I was so tired of picking up coins that I had these special shoes made to pick them up, look!" (and the coins jumps in your hands) Now what happens is that you jerk your leg up at knee level (bending the knee) and the coin that was in your turned up pants cuff will jump up to your waiting hand(s). I even did this little trick in front of magicians using a joke with the French drop (where I purposely dropped the coin on the floor, I am a francophone so the laugh their butt off!!!) and the coin jumped back up to my hands. Or you can call it the "foot muscle pass" Have fun! Ronnie Lemieux Montreal Canada

When you reach down to pick it up, toss it under your foot. (Works better on carpet. Beware, may make noise on tile or terrazo) Act as though you pick it up. Continue with some vanish moves. Try the French Drop, just without the coin.
Now, if you are standing in front of a table, as you bow you may want to kick the coin under the table. People will be less inclined to notice that if you are bowing. Or just use some of the lines posted. I like the ones: "That's a move I call the drop, a tribute to Isaac Newton....." "And now, it's time for my floor show." :spinningcoin: |

When you drop the coin..
See no strings attached!
Check out my new effect "As Good As It Gets" a gimmickles pencil or pen through bill effect. It closely mimmicks the slow motion phase of "Misled." About "As Good AS It Gets" for no gimmicks and everything being borrowed.
