Hi gang,
Looking for a grand and glorious giant Christmas silk or banner. Would anyone know of a favorite dealer with this or perhaps our own Mr. Sanders has a reference on these needful items of corporate conjuring?
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Define "grand or Glorius Christmas" Banner. I know P&A made some Christmas streamers. I can custom dye some streamers or hand paint them. Not sure what you are looking for.

Ed,
Thanks for the status! (I'm Mr.? That's a long ways from "Bob".) Ed, I would love to make you a proud owner of a DoveLite Christmas streamer except they don't exist. I do have solid red and solid green streamers and Sharpie pens will work fine on them. Richard can airbrush you one. May I suggest something that at first sounds wierd but just might work? (You know that the time is already here.) Look for a Christmas door decoration ribbon or banner. Money is no object to me, so I would start at the dollar stores! Even one printed on plastic may be as well as you can do this year. My last one for my uses was just colored paper and came from Chinatown in Hawaii. (Don't tell Lucy. She loves field trips for any excuse! I can't afford it.) Good Luck! Let us know what you find. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

P&A Silks also makes a 36" Merry Christmas silk, with a full color drawing of Santa. I use mine as part of the P&A Mis-Made Santa set I have, but I have seen on their website that they also sell it seperately. (BTW, they also make a Mis-Made Snowman set as well.)
I think they have silks that just have the words (and not the drawing on it, too), if that is what you are looking for instead. I think you have a choice of "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays." Richard mentioned that they also make a "Merry Christmas" streamer. Photos are on their website. P&A site: http://www.pasilks.com (You can also order from Denny & Lee). I am sure that Bob and Richard will do an excellent job for you, as well. - Donald

Men,
Great suggestions all round the room as usual! I will check the dealer sites, consider the markers and air brushing and see what sticks in the attic of my mind! Once again Mr. Bob...way too practical! LOL!

I don't know if you're looking for something like this but Tim Sonefelt, on his Wonder Imagery website, offers "The Legend of the Christmas Tree". It's What's New effect: a black is filled with tree branches, colors, etc. and then transforms into a 36" silk with a Christmas tree drawing. Here is the link:

Today on eBay I spotted an 18" Merry Christmas silk. That's small but it may be exactly what you need.
Good Luck! Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

My friends,
Your responses prove to me again that the Magic Café could make some progress on the whole middle east situation or any other problem anyone has! Thank you all!

Hello Ed,
After eating too much here at Thanksgiving, I remembered that Abbott's used to have a Santa silk in 18" and 24". (Perhaps turkey is brain food for some of us. After all, you are what you eat!) Good Luck! Bob Magic By Sander |

Abbot't's also made a 36" Santa silk. It was a stencil design but works well on stage. I have two. (Always have a backup).

Richard,
I've never owned one of these, but they are literally stenciled on and a little stiff aren't they? Bob Magic By Sander PS --- Where are we going next? |

No they used a stencil and airbrushed with dye. It is very supple just not extreme detail.
As for the next convention, I just got back from the history conference in LA. I thought about just going to MagiFest but I am tired explaining why I am not a dealer especially when I don't know why. I will do the collector's in DC in April. I am set for TriState convention in June as a dealer and performer. I will be dealing at SAM in Louisvile and working backstage at Abbott's as per usual. Maybe we will catch you someplace down the road. Richard

Richard,
Airbrush with dye would make a big difference in stiffness. I see that we are at Twin Cities together. We'll have fun! Much of 2006 I am west! Bob |
