Just keeping this from being buried. Should be quite a DVD.
D "Hey Laurie, keep your hat on, latest word is that it will be ready this week. As soon as I get them in my hands, I will put up all ordering information. It won't be long before you will all have that opportunity for the first ever comprehensive DVD on COINS ACROSS. Trust me, it will be worth the wait. By the way, for those of you going to World Magic Seminar in Vegas Feb 19th, we will be demoing many of the routines both in our lectures, as well as at the Dealers table. Please stop by, and don't forget about our Seminar III on the 18th, the day before the Seminar. Lots more coin magic, with special stuff only seen by the attendees of the Seminar! Hope to see you all soon!" |

Hey Dan, thanks for waiting. Poor Laurie has been keeping her hat on, and we hope the DVDs will be out before her hat needs to be aired out! We are waiting for the replicating company to tell us to pick up the finished copies. It is now a day to day thing, and after first making the master, then the proof, and now the copies, we are finally at the end of the road. This 2 DVD set will sell for $55, plus $5 shipping within the US, $11 overseas. Once our web site is up and running (also a day to day thing), we will give the ordering information. Look for early reviews to be coming out soon as well!

Dr. Rubinstein -
I've learned SO much off of your DVD's (got 'em all I think) that I can hardly wait to see what you and the rest of the power hitters have put together. Thank God stalking the postman is not yet a crime. ;-) Dan

Yes, final word is that they will arrive on Wednesday. We are just waiting for the web site to be up, so we can start taking orders. If its not up in time, we will make an announcement of where you can send the check! Genii will have its review in the March issue, and Dan will have his review up by next week.

I got the DVD from Mike Rubinstein yesterday, and watched it today in the afternoon, that is to say as soon as I had a moment... Well, I'll give more details tomorrow, all I can say so far is that that was money well spent... Coins across with gaff, no gaff, one ahead, two ahead, I even think there was a THREE ahead (!), using HPC, etc. And this method by Gallo to load a coin in a spec's fist is really worth considering...
Anyway, I'll tell you more tomorrow when I watch again. By the way, I had a look at Mike's rattle purse. The first thing I noticed is that... they're beautiful. The second was that they're made to last. The third was that there's more to it that meets the eye... Phedon

We haen't announced the sale of our DVD yet, only because of last minute bugs in our web site. Once they are all out of the way, you will be able to buy them via paypal through the website. And, we will also give you an alternative way if you want to send in a check or money order. We should have this all cleared up soon. The DVD is done, in stock, and looks fantastic. Can't wait to offer it for sale to the masses.

Thanks for the info Michael (and Mike). I've been following your thread on this DVD set for a while now and was surprised to see Phedon's post, wondering why you hadn't announced the release yet. Phedon... looks like I should be on YOUR mailing list instead.

Calenig, you will be able to buy it with paypal on the web site. No other dealers will carry it for now, it is exclusive with us. Phaedon lives down the block from me, but the rest of you will have to wait until the website is up and running! We are certainly hoping that the wait is short now, just ironing out a name transfer that has been holding everything up.

Ah ah ah... Craig: Yes, it is... it's convenient, fast AND economical (no postage necessary)
I'm going to briefly give a review, so that you guys have something to do while waiting It is a 2-DVD set first of all. Every routine is performed and explained. The montage is awesome and beautiful. Menu is perfect. DVD1 David Roth performs 5 routines, of which 4 are already in his ECMME and UCM series. Only 'Victor coins across' was new to me. To sum it up, these are David's classics. Must-haves. Dr. Rubinstein performs 4 routines, with 2 variations for 2 of them. Mike shares his ROPS Discrepancy count, a beautiful false count, and I liked his version of 3-fly, 'Retro'fly'. I was happy to see the Specciolini bros again: simple and beautiful coins across. Geoff Latta performs 6 routines. HPC lovers will be delighted, that's all I can say. And the trick with three coins is VERY entertaining. Loved it. DVD2 Michael Gallo shares 5 routines. There is a new way of loading a coin into the spec's hand that I really liked. As clean as it is easy. Found its way in my repertoire. Also, a quick but BAFFLING 3-coins across at the same time that left me bamboozled. Also: a handling of the spider vanish I didn't know. Beautiful. Kainoa Harbottle. Well... Everybody knows I hate this guy. He's just too good with this bloody EG Those having his booklets will SEE how beautiful his routines are (Deja Flew 1&2, another flipping 3-fly, punctuated equilibrium coins across), and... how difficult they are. For me. Again: beautiful. Practice needed though... Bonus: you'll find a panel discussion on the history of the fingertip coin across, on coins across in general, on the ROPS Discrepancy count, and much more... That was a VERY quick overview, I could talk and explain much more but unfortunately I have a wife and a baby now, and you understand Those interested in coins across should not hesitate acquiring this. I personally think that the concept of coins across is essential to coin magic, and I found this DVD to be not only a great idea, but a great achievement from the NY coin guys. It's not only routines, but useful insights from 5 great performers. Only one aspect not covered here: no underhand techniques. I think that was the only thing missing from this DVD. It's true that one might argue that back clips are rather limitating; however, they remain a lethal weapon when performing for small audiences. If you wanted a negative point, that's what I came up with. Yes, only that, sorry Sorry again for being so brief, but the two women of my life now need me Phedon Posted: Jan 29, 2006 2:07pm ---------------------------------------------- By the way... After 'Coins Across', what's going to be next? Hey, Dr. Rubinstein, [b]I'm talking to you!! Phedon
