Have a look in the Believe it or not section. There's been a lot of discussion on this subject.

On second thought, why do it at all? You can stand in traffic much more safely. Plus do a great fire routine with out the blow. Why riun your face for 3 seconds of WOW?

While the bookmay be well written, I strongly suggest finding someone who'll teach you, instead of working from a book. A person can give pointers and tell where you're going wrong, a book can't.

I know of a few performers who cant even get a fire trick booked due to the legal issues involved so I wouldnt waste time learing it unless its jsut for fun.

Just for fun? Fire in any context BURNS! Venues, and living things...I've been a professional fire eater for more than half a century. The only serious burns I've gotten were from "fire-breathing." Do you even have control? I no longer do it, or teach it.

Slim has it nailed. (he has seen that nasty one I got at the SSG)
Fire eating/ Fire Breathing is not just some silly bar stunt. It is not something to pick up from a video, nor is it anything to pick up from a book. It is best to look for fire performers in your area, and travel if you have to to meet them, and learn from them. Books and videos just don't explain what has worked for others, what went good, what went wrong, if they got busted for it. |

I agree, never use a book for learning always seek out people with experience, being one myself my advice would be to not do it, unless you are completely ready to get hurt, And fire perfromer who says he hasnt been hurt is lying or the luckiest bloke in the world, so let him do the fire and let him pick your lottery numbers! I used to be ready to perfrom fire anytime anyplace anywhere, then I got chemical pnuemonia and had a month of feeling like c r a p! after that I started thinking this maybe wasn't the best thing to be doing! I now only do it IF I am completely happy the risk is down to an acceptable level for me and the price is right!
Keep passing the open windows!
