The effect: spectator chooses a card, and the card is shuffled into the deck. the magician then removed his tie which is handled freely. The spectator then throws the deck into the air whilst simultaniously the magician whips the tie into the frenzy of cards. It is crearly visible that the tie has peiced one card, which is, of course, the spectators chosen card.
Ok so that's the effect, it cost $25 dollars plus postage on the bazar de magic website, and was created by Juan Pablo I assume. My thoughts: The product works pretty much exactly as it says on the tin, and looks fantastic when done properly so theres no problems there. However the gimmick I feel is not the best designed, I personally made a small adjustment with a little extra something and now it workds like a charm. The tie is imo pretty ugly, and relatively low quality (as soon as I removed it from the box the little 'handle' at the back of the tie which is used to hold the smaller dangling bit fell of on one side - not a problem as I never use it anyway). The effect comes with a bonus routine which I havent used yet but looks pretty good, you are also supplied with a little extra something to gimmick you own tie if you wished (looks pretty simple). So overall I recomend the effect even though I don't feel the gimmick is well made, having said that the effect absolutely will convince you anyway, just watch the video online somewhere and you'll see what I mean In conclusion, despite bad quality, the trick is definetly worth checking out. Sorry the reveiw was so short but I just wanted to let a few people know what a great effect this was. Ollie |

I bought this one and when I got it, it went right into the junk drawer.
The gimmick is terrible, the tie is ugly, and making one with a good tie is not done very easily. There is no real reason for taking off your tie to finish this effect. S. Patrick |

Spatrick, is this effect the equivalent of "killer red caps"?

Anyone ever buy and use this?
could I just dump the cards into a brown paper bag (alternative to throwing cards in the air) then lower tie into bag, give tie a shake (if need be) and then upon raising tie from bag the card will be pinned to the tie? thanks... -Mike |

I read it was an ugly tie. That didn't bother me either. I was going to joke about it too. Also, I live in Florida and people rarely wear ties so I was going to present it with that angle too.... my only concern is I don't want to throw a bunch of cards in the air and have to pick them up etc....
No problem with getting card to appear using a big bag or basket or something as the "cover"?.... thanks ! (also I have no problem with pre-loading and doing force if need be, but is it possible to load on the fly? i.e. pull tie out of your pocket all rolled up..loading card as you go to retrieve the tie?....) |

You have to pre set the tie you cant slip it in.the instructions say you can use a a big see through zip lock baggy instead.
