I've just seen this now Harry, glad it went well. I've done quite a few of these types of shows & they always go over very well. They make an enthusiastic audience. It would very rare to find a trouble maker in an audience like that.
I remember doing a show like that were one kid was in a bed & would just groan & dribble. I felt like it was a very flat response until the teachers told me they had never seen him react that way before. Apparently he seldom attempts to talk, but he was groaning his slurred speech throughout my show. So even if you feel like the reaction is not what you expect they may still be having a great time. All in all yes keep it very simple, most preschooler type tricks will go down well but they are not a difficult type of audience at all. The best ones are the children that have a mental maturity of about 5 or six but in fact may be much older even mature adults. They can be very articulate and are always very enthusiastic. I remember doing my kids show for a girl who was turning 30. Yes, she was 30 yet had a mental age similar to a young child. Most of her friends had the same condition including one man aged about 50 who was wearing a business suit. I assumed he was one of the parents until he began jumping up & down yelling & pointing during run rabbit run. He was trying to act very mature but it just got too much for him.

Yes it was really weird doing kid like tricks and they were adults with the a mental age similar to a young child. I did learn a lot!

Really glad it went well and that you enjoyed it - aren't they just some of the best people? Totally honest and open, because they know no other way - I never hesitate to accept a booking of this kind.
Best of, Dave
