Hey ive my first kids show and I didn't know where to put this. Ive numerous tricks but I don't know what is suitablke for children.

what to use as a intro? what to sue as a closer... I really don't know. Some of the considerable things I was thinking about are visual things like:

Enchanted cube
Chinese Sticks
CHangebag(with silks)
Spongebals
Cups and balls
Thumb tips
D-Lite
Ninja rings
Dice Bomb
Haunted key
Several Gimmicked Decks
Packet tricks like NFW and Twisted Sister or Dream of Aces
Normal decks of cards

Ive never done a kid show and I don't know if I can entertain a kid with stuff like this. Any help?

Stop at dlite it will take about 35 min. plus the kids might not get the cards.
they thought it was impossible until they met me.

theres no reality in magic

did the magician come before the assistant or the other way around.

MichielTummers,
I agree with magicguy67.

I started my kid shows talkingabout the power of imagination.
With imagination, we can see things that are not there(production) and make things that are there...disapear(vanish.)
I don't know how great that is but it served me well for many years.
Peace,
Parson

Oh yea. Always leave'em wantin' more.

What other tricks ?

A sucker trick - hippity hop rabbits/run rabbit run
Several where the children are involved as a group - magic painting
Where a child does the magic - so many

The audience MUST be involved.
They are to have fun, not watch you. !

Throw in some funny wands or Bongo hat.

I would suggest opening with a simple silk production/vanish with the TT.
As for a closer, perhaps a big(ish) production - maybe at the end of the changebag routine produce a giant silk (Thank you/rabbit/christmas etc).

that's what I'm kind of planning for my first kids performance (family at xmas), although I have a Dove Pan for a flashy production of chritmas cookies!

Good luck!

I would suggest getting one of the kid magic DVD's out there and seeing how kids react to different effects. Silliness and participation is what kids enjoy most. Can't say I've ever seen cups and balls in a kid show. Ninja rings are more of a close-up routine and I probsbly wouldn't perform it for larger than a group of six. There is a good reason so many children's performers continuously perform routines for children such as bongo hat, spongeballs, magic coloring book, sponge bunnies, multiplying wands, etc... These are all time proven inexpensive effects. Another factor is what ae children you are talking about. Over 7 they can get a little tricky to entertain. Look thru the "Little Darling" section in the Café for a wealth of information.

I forgot earliar.
I don't care how you produce it... a paper bag on front of stage... BUT, kids appreaciate a RABBIT more than anything.
There are many, many ways to produce a rabbit.
They are a pain to keep. They poop.
If I was doing kid's shows or schools, there is no way that I would be without one.
This is the straight poop.

MichielTummers,
Do they have rabbits in the Netherlands? (Loosely based on a quiestion offered by President George W. Bush.) Those who understand will understand. Those who don't need to will not.

Ninja rings would be good, but not the cards.
