When I received the book, I was so disappointed at the first 10 seconds...
Ok, I read it, and have just finished it. And finally I have to admit it's my cup of tea and it worths the money. It's a great book and I think those who really understand the content have the potential to change the form of magic in the future. It's the book of magic. Thanks, Max! Alex Hui

The ads were not in the least misleading. They stated plainly that there was only one secret and that there were no tricks.
I was not disappointed in my purchase. I'm not planning to sell my copy. And it does represent a lot more work than most people think. However, if you didn't order a copy, and you can't afford the ones on ebay, you probably don't need it. This is not meant as a put down. There are a couple of definite markets for this book, and they are somewhat limited.

Any insight into why Maven and Minch decided to market it the way they did? It seems to me they might have done perfectly well to target those definite but limited markets. 0pus |

To tell the truth, not many people will enjoy the book in any circumstance. People rather read books on trick and method instead of reading book which contains only one secret (which may not be a big deal to most people). But for those who care, they care that particular secret.

Just trying to prevent people who THINK there will be something magical in that book from KILLING their money in a way, and witness the DEATH of a book (or their own DEATH by paying stupid amounts of money on ebay)
and whoever owns the book and actually did some extra reading (other than magic related books) will know why I compared the book to coehlo's

Gee I don't THINK there's something magical in the book I KNOW there is. You just need to know how to find it. And my money is far from KILLed as the book is easily going for twice what I paid for it on E-Bay. A good investment so far, not that I'll ever sell mine.
Books never Die, especially this one since it's printed on acid free paper. Had I paid twice the original amount for it I still would have been happy with it. But then I appreciate the Art of the Book.

I used the term magical, referring to tricks and routines. you know there is something magical, good for you, every book has a magical touch to it (not going into the philosophy of books now)...
as for recommending a novel by Coelho, I would say ALL of them. but in this case (discussing protocols here) I would say "Manual of the Warrior of Light" (covers more than protocols in MY opinion).
