Hi all,
I don't have a lot of money right now because I am saving for a schoolcraft flipper I am going to purchase coinman walking ASAP, and I know I need a c/s and c/s/b. There are some very cheep ones especially on ebay, are these fine for the effects in coinman walking, or do I need nice made ones? Is there a big difference? Thanks for the help! |

You can do the effects with the cheaper coins. If you are looking for the cheaper mass produced sets, I'd look for the Johnson Products ones. On the DVD I show you what coins for the Johnson set correlates to the custom coins I used.

Dan,
Does the CSB routine on your DVD stay "out of the pockets?" The stock routine that came with the Johnson set I bought has you repeatedly traveling to your pockets which is somewhat weak IMO.

Yes you can use the Sasco set. And yes the routine was designed specifically to stay out of the pockets, not use any purse switch, not tip extra coins are being used, and have the coins examinable in the beginning and end of the routine. It is also done standing without a table.
I do use one back clip in the routine however so you have to be aware of your angles for that. Or you can do what Mike Gallo does, he performs my routine without the back clip and uses a palm to palm change of the coins. |

I spent a long time trying to develop a routine just like that, and came up with something similar as a stand-alone effect called "Sensible CSB". However I couldn't manage to eliminate the purse switch... and I really tried hard to do that. It's done standing, w/o a table, and without pocketing anything (which is weak imo as well Pulverbr), but couldn't find a way to juggle the coins throughout in a natural, quite, and angle-friendly manner. I spent a lot of time on that one, so I'm torn between: Way to go Dan!! and I hate you Best, Mike (I don't hate you) |

Thanks for the info, Dan. I'm definitely interested in the DVD as well as your Coin Vanish manuscripts. There appears to be tons of great material in these.

I have just created a routine with a CSB set and a slot box that is good for restaurants due to the instant reset and has NO angle issues whatsoever with a few subtleties and a kicker ending where all the coins change to silver without any moves because you're way ahead at that point! I worked it tonight at my restaurant and the reactions were great. The C/S/B set is more versatile than the C/S coin...besides you get a c/s coin in the c/s/b set if you really need to just use that one. The routine I created DOES use a table. There are absolutely no trips to the pockets and there isn't any confusing back and forth traspositions. The audience handles the coins almost the entire time so there is never any way for them to even think "magic coins". There are a lot of surprises along the way and then the kicker ending. I'm VERY happy with this routine because I hated the trips to the pocket without reason.

I don't know how to release anything lol. I have a lot of original material that I show to SOME people that I know and trust but mainly do it for lay audiences. I've been thinking about a lecture sometime within the future that someone in my area said that they would host me to start me up. I don't know though. I'm too much of a perfectionist at times My stuff ranges from beginner to advanced. This C/S/B routine would fall into intermediate because you have to have some basic knowledge of coins and be able to do the himber vanish.

I guess if there was ever a big enough interest in my stuff I would do a DvD somehow.

Hey Mike Wild,
Don't sell yourself short. Your material in the Tavern Magic series is in a class by itself. Dan, I agree with you on choosing Johnson products (vs. Sasco) when it comes to quality. I also need to check out your material, as it sounds like I'm missing out on some gems. |

Bryan, I just did a lecture at Marc DeSouza's house, it went very well. I am sure he would be more than happy to have you lecture at his house if you wanted. I really enjoyed your sleeving wild coin routine last year and would love to see more of your work.

Just to add Dan suggests that you can use those other coins to do the effects. But you WILL need the schoolcraft flipper. Dan am I right? Or has that changed. Jamies is the only one I owned so could not compare to any others.

Well the flipper is not used for any CS or CSB routines. "4 Coins, Your Hands" I created after I recieved Jamie's coin because it needs the characteristics of being able to open simply by picking it up, and lay flat in my hand. Traditional flipper coins do not do this because you need to flick them open and they spring shut instead of laying flat. I have not tried any other flippers because the one I have works. No reason to keep looking for me.

Can anybody tell what a CS or CSB is; at this moment I don't use any coin gimmick apart from the coppersilver, so I'm just curious,LOL.
Thanks a lot. Have a good weekend everyone. Regards, Mano. |
