Does anyone know what is the latex mixture for making latex rubber doves, fake hands, etc. I have access to raw latex. I want to know what other components / chemicals need to be mixed with it (like ammonia, etc.) to make good quality latex goods.
I have experience in making latex goods. I just want to know the right mixture. Thanks in advance.

"Makeupguy" sounds like the answer-man on this one! Read the "working with latex" post below. I'm gonna contact him myself.

Lou:
What you mix into latex depends on what it's final use it.. For latex doves, I'd use rd-407 latex.. a store here in LA sells it.. look at their website http://www.makeupkits.com For rubber hands.. I'd use raw latex and mix in some dry clay or clay slip.. color it with regular latex or acrylic paint. the Clay Slip will make the latx harder.. but.. if I was going to make hands... I'd actually pour them in urethane or Silicone..probably Urethane. Get in touch with me.. I do stuff like this for a living.. and can make, sculpt and mold ANYTHING ... |
