Just thought id share this story. had to take my rabbit to the vet today due to a lump on his cheek. It looks like it's an absess that will need draining. I brought him home and put him in his run which has quite high sides. I did regular checks to make sure he was ok. One time he wasn't there so I thought he might be in his box. As I looked I notice a big cat in the corner of my eye. I did a double take and he has my rabbit by the scruff of the neck. I own an English lop so this was a big big cat. I chased it and he tried climbing the tree with my rabbit. I scared him enough and got my rabbit back. God knows what I'll do if I see that cat again and what the cat had I nstore for my rabbit. What a day!

Wow,
I've seen cats get killed by rabbits. You must have a very laid back rabbit. When they want to, they can be wicked mean! Good luck with the absess! Keith

Isn't the rabbit enclosed in a hutch?
How did the cat get to it? It's a good thing you got there when you did. Hope your rabbit is ok including the abcess!!!

WOW!! That's some story! Hopefully the rabbit will be OK. My rabbit is just the opposite. It actually looks out for all my doves! They are in the same area, and if neighborhood cat comes within a few feet, it lunges and scares the intruder away, then she goes back to her cage, and sits there. I guess I got a little lucky on the Rabbit with her personality. She is kitty litter trained and doesn't like to leave her area, so she roams free. A lot of my neighbors wonder exactly what the solid white thing is lurking around, but she is very protective of her doves and territory. Although she won't lash out at me, if strangers come nearby, she growls. I think she thinks she is a dog!! *haha*

It was in its run in the garden. It's quite a tall run and in all my years keeping rabbits have never seen this before. God knows how the cat jumped into the run then out with the rabbit. I'm gone to sort the absess out today.

Stevie,
Rabbits can have dental problems. That is what this one may be. Once fixed, they do well. It sounds like you could use a peaceful day! Good Luck! (to both of you!) Bob Magic By Sander |

Glad it turned out ok.
My rabbits had a near-miss episode with a black bear a couple of years ago. Regan

Jokes like that make me want to hop away.
Yes, I am a magician. No I did not make my hare (hair) disappear... it just took early retirement.
