Are there any manuscripts out there for a book test performed with comic books? I am trying to figure one out myself I think I almost have it. A variation of A Classic Swindle from Corinda. However I'd like the reveal to be a drawing of a panel or parts of each individual panel(on a slate or notepad or whatever)rather than a word. Plus it's painful to ruin so many comics.
Has anyone ever tried this? Thoughts, Etc...

If there were one, it would definitely have to use Steve Ditko's Dr Strange pages.
Hm...Maybe using the Essential Dr Strange Volumes One and Two with Hoy's Book Test? *jeep! --Chet ("Just read the second word balloon in the third panel on your chosen page.")

I would suggest using one of the readily available graphic novels. The Death of Superman comes to mind as one that has many one panel pages although it probably would not do because of the page placement. With some looking you should be able to find a book that will meet your needs.

Corindas magazine test could be changed to work with comics....

If you want the reveal to be visual and nostalgic... why not reveal the picture on a piece of silly putty?

That's a great idea with the silly putty. How about the Sundy funnies? Inexpensive and timely!

You could combine a book test with a prediction by using an electronic clipboard and a computer scanner or copy machine that enlarges photos/pictures. The idea would be to have the person page through any comic book, find a frame and attempt to draw it. At the same time, you are drawing what the spectator is drawing and just as imperfectly- stick men, etc. The comedy ending is that you compare drawings. The prediction is when you have the spectator open a large manilla envelope that has been in plain sight the entire time, and he finds an enlarged copy of the chosen frame.

Hmm... why not do a pegasus page effect with a Superman comic... page flight ..."You will believe a page can fly...!"...
Then one can also do an Autome/Max maven book style effect with some number switching and common images - take the Watchmen graphic novel for that... Just a thot.

I just found a guy who sells old comic books for $20 per 50 at the flea market in Sanford. He also has several batches of the same comic books ( A dozen or more). Is this a good deal?
Thanks Dave

Dave, it all depends on which comic books he sells at $20 for 50. Fifty copies of *Godzilla, King of the Monsters* (Marvel version)? $20 would be too much. Fifty copies of *Sugar & Spike*? Teriffic deal!!

I am trying to incorporate as much of things that I am interested into my work. Which include Comics, Video games, etc etc. Once I have this perfected next I will figure out how to Use My Nintendo DS and do a final score prediction.
