There is no life without pain. Purpose doesn't remove pain.
But there is a difference between meaningless pain and purposeful sacrifice.

You cannot avoid pain in life. Choosing which pain you endure is the path to power.

Choose your pain when possible.

What would you do if you were not afraid?

Until death, all defeat is psychological.

Glad I started this so many years ago.

Don't shrink yourself to be a pond just because people can't swim in your depths.

"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother's words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers, so many caring people in this world." — Fred Rogers

Regardless of the situation, there are always 'helpers' out there.

It Couldn't Be Done by Edgar Albert Guest

Somebody said that it couldn’t be done but he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.

So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin on his face. If he worried he hid it.

He started to sing as he tackled the thing that couldn’t be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that; at least no one ever has done it;”
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat and the first thing we knew he’d begun it.

With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing that couldn’t be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure,
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one, the dangers that wait to assail you.

But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing that “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.

What a privilege it is indeed.

To grow into someone I used to need.

"Modern life can create great confusion and we can forget that humanity is an integral component in the natural world."

"When you enter one of the world’s great forests, you go in one side and you come out somewhere different. Sometimes, you go in and come out and you’re different."

~Ray Mears

"Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right?
You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you, you can't do it.
If you want somethin', go get it. Period."

Chris Gardner (Will Smith)
