Can anyone suggest any good web sites for a beginner in comedy magic to gain inspiration?
Also, are there any good books/dvd's on same that you can recommend?

Thanks in advance

One of the old standbys are the Robert Orben books. Some are very dated.

Look to comedy books....Steve Shrott (probably misspelled) had a 2 volume comedy course that was ok.....

Judy Carter writes some great stuff. NOT magic stuff comedy stuff.....start there and learn comedy, you will figure out what magic to put in later but if you want comedy magic that is actually funny, start learning to be funny, THEN put magic with that talent.

It takes a long time to learn to be funny and to start with you must have a natural talent to make people laugh and you must develope on that. Also before you go out professionally you must try it out on shows in local places and at home and again learn what the audience laugh at and what they do not.
In my very early days I would take a note book with me and immediately after a show I would jot down what happened.
Also a good addition to help the humour are comedy props but even then you have to make them become funny.
Hope this helps.
