As you know I have retired from Kids Parties and so I will start to share some of my cherished routines, which to my knowledge are original.
In the spirit of Christmas I give you this wonderful idea for the Axtell Drawing Board. A natural routine for the Axtell Drawing Board for your Christmas shows is the Frosty The Snowman story whereas you tell the Frosty The Snowman Story and he comes to life after you draw his hat. A natural for the Axtell Drawing Board. (I sing the song as I draw Frosty because I was gifted with a wonderful voice) but You can talk sing like William Captain Kirk Shatner or heaven forbid if it fits your style rap to it which takes very little if any talent. I think this is enough info for you to run with and fill in some blanks with your own creative ideas. Merry Christmas Everyone, HowDini

You can also take this basic idea and use it for most any holiday. For example, you can play Monster Mash and draw frankenstein for Halloween. It is a great way to be able to customize your shows and have a lot of fun with the kids at the same time. Thanks for sharing it with us Howdini. I hope you are doing well and enjoying your free time.

Hey HowDini -
That's a pretty cool idea, about the hat being a "motivation" for the drawing to come alive and animate. I've drawn Santa and frankenstein monsters before, that's normal fare. Drawing a snowman that comes to life because you draw in the hat is great thinking, because of the familiarity of the song and the children's holiday specials about frosty. Thanks for sharing. I have a Christmas routine with the drawing board I am currently using, and am pretty happy with, but that is great inspiration for other routine ideas. I wonder if the kids will also remember that the bad guy on one of the frosty specials is a magician? I think he looks like Kyle Peron... just kidding, Kyle! Hehehe! - Donald

Ok, I was going to hold off until Halloween in regards to Frankenstein but as long as he was mentioned here goes.
The catalist that brings old Frank to life is electricity captured from lightning as the story goes. Can you say Funkenring ? HowDini

I have been doing the Frosty with the Axtell board for a few years now. It is a perfect match, he begins to move after the line "placed it on his head he began to dance around" I found a song that had a differnet voice when Frosty spoke, this worked well with the talking part of the board. FYI John Kaplan also showed this routine in one of his courses.

Flourish Dude,
I saw the Kaplan routine, but could not find the recording with a separate Frosty voice. Could you tell us which one it is? Thanks, Bruce |
