The famous classic will be coming to the big screen this Wednesday 12/14/05. The computer graphics look fantastic. Some scenes look identical to the BW version except it has been computer enhanced and in color.
Looking forward to seeing the movie that scared the be-geebers out of me when I was just a little guy. Now this remake looks a lot better than the 1977 version.

I'm looking forward to this retelling of this classic film story. Hopefully it will be a lot better than the directors previous three films.

Unforgettable Jessica Lange line: "You male chauvinist pig ape!" I was 14 or 15 when I saw this at the theatre. After that line, I knew I was not watching a classic.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

"King Kong
You know the name of King Kong - 10 times as big as a man!" (Who remembers where that lyric came from?)

Trust me on this...Have some tissues with you. Before you go in make some excuses about having something in your eye...there are 2 (3 for me) parts of this movie where the eyes will swell up a bit...very effective emotional manipulation.
Do NOT wait for it to come to DVD...this is a BIG Screen MUST. See it at a digital screening if you can... Naomi Watts is the new Betty Davis. My life is now complete...unless PJ remakes Star Wars, not much to look forward to. Private Screenings Kick Ass!

I do Chessman!
That line, "King Kong, 10 times as big as a man" came from the 60's cartoon adventures of "King Kong". I was in my single digit years, and thouoght the show was great. I don't know what I would think if I saw it today. Mopst 60's cartoons aren't as good as I remember. (Rocky and Bullwinkle are still great though!)

Be prepared, young kids and soccer moms will REALLY cringe at the bug feast...and don't buy the super large size Coke or you'll be running to the bathroom just when you shouldn't. The 2nd hour is a one hour long ALL ACTION set piece you can't miss. Ditto the 3rd hour which is the most iconic of the 3+ hours. Man that's a BIG building!
As a child, the rather low wall around the TOP of the Empire State Building was NOT fenced. My dear old dad (not) held me over the edge of the that wall...to this day my stomach tightens at the thought! Kong has always been a catharsis.

Size matters Reis...a 400 ft Godzilla could flick the 25ft Kong with a toe nail.
Tha Japanese KK vs G, outsized Kong to HUGE (The WORST Gorilla Suit in history!) for a match up...but it was pretty bogus all around.

Doug has said it well! This is an excellent movie! Like Doug I’m glad that I took in a good supply of napkins with my buttered popcorn.
Given the realism of the computer generated Kong, I think that very soon living actors will be redundant! Na Naomi Watts did a great job in the movie. She has every bit as good a scream as Fay Rae! She helps pull the emotion in more than one scene! Jack Black also pulled his role of Carl Denham off with great aplomb. For fans of the original (like me), Jack kept the right balance of slime and cold-heartedness! The movie is a bladder buster! I strongly recommend forgoing the traditional soft drink on this one. You simply don’t want to miss a scene.
