There is a trick listed in Abbott's Catalogue in the silk section that I believe is called, "Triple Color Silks", or something like that.
The best I remember, you started with 3, fairly large silks, (1 red, 1 yellow, 1 blue). It seems they were tied together (I'm not sure if the magician ties them at the start, or if they are already tied). Then I believe they blend into 3 tri-color silks of red/yellow/blue. I am thinking that these may be something I can use in a routine, however, I cannot find my Abbott's catalogue. I know it's here somewhere, but I cannot locate it. If anyone happens to have a copy of Abbott's description of this trick I would sure appreciate it if you could PM or email me a copy. If some of you that own this trick would tell me how you like it, that would be even better. I'd like to know if the quality is good, and how it works in 'real world' conditions. I think it used to cost somewhere around $80-$90. Keep in mind, that I am trying to work from my memory, which sometimes isn't the most reliable source for information. Hopefully my description will be close enough that someone can recognize what I am talking about, and correct all the errors. Thanks! Regan

Regan,
These are 18" silks. You probably already have this. It is the 4-Color change (double silk) with an added silk in the center. Instead of changing colors it goes to tie-dyed silks. (If you buy one or have one made for you, request the larger ring. It will improve the action considerably.) Good Luck! Bob Magic By Sander |

The above is the Abbott's website. No silk tricks shown, but they do have the catalog that can be ordered. James Adamson http://www.seam2006.com

Regan, there are two Blendo effects listed in the latest catalog that fit your description, the first is on page 368, A standard blendo Lists at $175.00 three 18" silks , turn into 36" rainbow And on page 375 All, Square Blendo lists at 100.00(Duke Stern Idea) three 18" silks shown separately, transform into a large 36" square patterned silk.
If you have access to a fax machine I could probably fax you the pages. I have no ability to scan them, sorry. If either sound correct I would be willing to re-type the descriptions from the catalog. PM me. Frank Tougas

Regan may be speaking of the Neil Foster effect that was from Pavel I believe. 3 silks are tied together and upon pulling the silks on changes position in the chain, the finale is all silks are tied at one corner, held out in a upside down triangle.
They were made in 24" size. |

Thanks for all your responses. I apologize for not getting back sooner but I have been under the weather with some type of flu bug. I'm still not sure if any of these are the one I remember, but you have shown me other possibilities if I can't locate the one in question.
I need to find my catalogue. It was not the latest edition, so the silk effect I am looking for may no longer be available.

Regan, I don't have the catalog. Unfortunately, the revised Abbott's website does not yet allow you to access the previous catalog (#25). The current catalog is #26. I do, however, have the price list from catalog #25. What comes closest is Triple Silk Change at $85. You should call (800) 92-MAGIC or e-mail (amagic@net-link.net) Greg at Abbott's. I have always found him quite helpful.

I don't know what happened, but this topic got locked or something for a few days. I'm glad it is up and going again.
Thanks Jimmy, I got the PDF File! Thanks to you for identifying the name of this silk effect. It is indeed Abbottt's "Triple Silk Change". I am still interested in buying this, so if anyone has it, I would sure appreciate a review. Bob, I hope you are correct about the working. That would be just perfect for me. The way it shows it tied together in the picture makes uncertain. Frank, thanks so much for the offer. I may still consider a blendo effect if the Triple Silk Change doesn't work out. I am going to do a thorough search for my old Abbott's Catalogue #25 after the holiday rush is over. I know it is somewhere in my home. I am usually good about keeping up with my magic catalouges, so I can't figure out why it is being so difficult to find. Regan
