Today a friend told me about how he used to staple his arm. So I tried it and the staple tines went totally into my arm without any pain. But the reaction as I started to bleed was priceless. Does anybody have any experience with this? Or know if there is any risks? Because I'm tempted to try it out with a card routine. And during this routine I plan on really stapleing the card to my arm. This can't sound too insane because in another topic people were talking about sticking a needle through their hand.

Lemme see, you are putting staples into your arm...it isn't sterile, it may have fragments of other articles on 'em, I say go for it.

Use rubbing alcohol on the staples, and the stapler.

Brett and Scott... for the love of all that is right in the world, NOOO!!!!
Alcohol does NOT kill germs or sterilize, it merely dilutes the concentration of bacteria. It also messes with the healing tissues of the skin. Take this advice from Red Stuart, who has been doing the human billboard longer than all of us have been alive combined!! "Use your own saliva. Your saliva has enzymes in it, the enzymes kill off what you don't want." What Red means by this is that there is a good amount of "good bacteria" that is essential to your body, you want to use this stuff to your own advantage. I won't name names, but there is a performer who wipes his wounds and props from his fakir act with alcohol. If you ever get a good close up look at his skin, you will see horrible pink puckered sore spots at the entry site(s). They are permanent due to his use of alcohol. Lick 'em and stick 'em. There's a REASON animals lick their wounds, so should we. Other than that, the stapling routine has been around for a long time. Scattered Dream, it is completely safe to do what you intend. I also like the idea of combining the classic sideshow act with a simple illusionist card trick. TMFGN

Hey Nipps! You're much younger than you look! Red's not THAT old. I've got 14 hours on him. Yup, twins, born on the same day, at opposite ends of New Jersey, to different mothers.

Alcohol doesn't work. Panama, 1981, tattoo parlour across from a porn bar. They used alcohol to clean (right) the needles. Everyone got hepatitis.

Sorry I shortened slang...
I have seen it done using alcohol on the staples, don't shoot me. The man who did it is free of infection and disease and did this 14 shows plus a day for the 3 months I was with him. Now as I read Nipos, I have to agree he may have something there. The long short of it is, do you really want to do this? Being diabetic I can add that I use alcohol on my body before injecting with insulin and in fact clean off the needle to my syringe as I use 2 different bottles and was advised by my doctor to do so. Once again, do you really want to do this? |

He has a point, the sanitary levels of a staple is the same as a syringe issued for use by diabetics. I don't know why junkies are told to use bleach to clean needles, a lil' dip in some rubbing alcohol and you are good to go.

The rubbing of the skin right before a vaccine is more for piece of mind rather than sanitation. By the time you have finished getting the shot, and walked out the room, then the area is sterile." The best is when they clean the injection site prior to using lethal injection for a death sentence. You could rub raw sewage on the guy's arm, who cares? He'll be done in a few minutes anyway.
Also, the rubbing of ANY cleanser does more than the agent itself. Studies show that rubbing hands together vigorously is as effective as rinsing hands (soaped or unsoaped) under water. TMFGN

NO! NO! NO! I get this same thing with the kids that come into my shop with a piercing I[/] did and they tell me that they're using Bactine, alcohol, etc. when I specifically told them exactly what [b]TO use. The use of these harsh products you think will cause long term permanent scarring. I think I said that in an earlier post. SALIVA. Just stop and think for a moment. None of these products will make you heal. Your BODY makes you heal. That's it. Certain products will help the process along, but NOTHING in the entire world will heal your wounds for you except yourself. The use of antibiotics, antibacterial and antimicrobials is also the WORST thing that anybody could ever do and the doctors that keep spewing this crap to their patients should know better. On a global scale, these products eventually cause viruses and bacteria to mutate and become resistant to current medicines. On a local scale, they kill off a broad spectrum of bacteria, including the "good" stuff that your body needs to thrive.
I've given you the answer, your'e just not paying attention, hoping that there's some panacea out there as a cure all. If you believe that ther is one, I have a 2 gallon bottle of snake oil to sell you that will heal every malady known to man. TMFGN
